That Seegee looks factory man! Fantastic paint job and I love the red tone on the pants. Great job with the details & he looks powerful with that build! Kudos on your dio -shots (as always) bringing everything to life... (is that ceiling panels as the cracked dry desert floor?)
Oh, and I got a chuckle out of the shine on old Chrome Dome's noggin in the final shot! |

Man, that DTC Crimson Guard is awesome! I always kind of liked that look, and I can't believe I never thought of using the MTF red Germans for it.
Such a great custom. All of these "crimson customs" from you have been really cool. Any plans for a couple more? I'm trying to think of what would be left that would fit in with these latest customs. I suppose there's the Crimson Guard Commander, but I for one can't even begin to think of how you'd throw a ME custom of him together. |

Thanks! Trying to think about what to do with them now as the group expands, might team up with the Red Shadows that I put together or they might be in a huge battle with them over the color red!

Oh, and I got a chuckle out of the shine on old Chrome Dome's noggin in the final shot! Haha, it?s actually scrap book paper from one of the retail chain craft stores. A majority of my flooring in the pics are just $0.50-$1.00 pieces of scrap book paper. Lmao, that was a fun Easter egg shoutout to Clockwise because I always enjoy the shine he adds to the visors, faceplates & gear in his artwork. Thanks! Appreciate it! Really fun to have a new version of them for my shelf! Quote:

That Crimson Guard Commander from 93 is one of my favorite Joe figures ever so he?s one that is definitely on the list. Thinking he?ll require some sculpting to get done or at least some casted parts that I haven?t seen yet. He?ll definitely be in this thread at some point though, probably with a double made because I NEED a pair of him in the modern collection. Haha. Beyond him, I have a couple of red guys built who I am still thinking about finalizing as I work through my in progress table, just ones i threw together over time as Marauder released stuff, some actual Joe characters, some random troopers I built myself with no real inspiration other than combining cool parts. Then because I?m enjoying this group so much, I have thought about maybe adding some other guys to the group. Some 2000?s era figures who are in similar schemes but then also some Cobra troop builders who maybe only had one or two figures in the original ARAH run. ?????? Thanks as always for all of the comments & conversation, everyone! Always super enjoyable for me! Hoping to have a new one posted in the next day or so, just have to finish some pictures!

So as I started doing Shadow Ninjas, this next character was a no brainer to be a new addition to the group, I just had to figure out how to make her a little different from what I?ve already done with the group. So the idea was there, just wasn?t sure of my path, then I saw Steel Brigade?s awesome Valor vs Venom Jinx:
https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5275146-post350.html And I got jealous because the Club sort of gave us a homage to it but I didn?t really have a VvV Jinx. But I kept it moving. Then Ax dropped an awesome VvV too!: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5360085-post1.html That?s when the wheels started moving and I thought, two birds with one stone, make my Shadow Ninja Jinx a transformation from the Valor vs Valor design. And off we went! So typical start to one of these, grab a clear blank that I sort of feel matches the character. For Jinx, I thought clear ice was the way to go because it could sort of homage the white outfit SDCC version and also would pop well off her signature red. Then I started going through my Boss Fight fodder bin and saw the gold female armor with the skirt and thought it kind of resembled the overcoat of the VvV. Threw on some gold gauntlets to give her some color on her arms, then decided to give her the sandals look because I haven?t tried that for any of the prior Shadow Ninjas I tried. Next up was adding the paint, the fire red was a given. Because the BF gold armor was already really nice looking, I decided to replace the original figure?s yellow shades in favor of the gold and left those accents unpainted. So I painted parts of the armor red, the trim of the gauntlets and gave the sandal straps some red with the soles being gold. The final piece was the head, I wanted the long haired look.....but the Marauder blindfold wouldn?t give me the desired outcome because I really wanted a clear bang to drape over her blindfold. So sculpting was now a part of this. Grabbed some green stuff and sculpted a blindfold that would look like it rested under her clear hair. So really happy with this one, just a fun project to do, got to add to my group of Shadow Njnjas, it was a cool way to use more fodder parts and I got another Jinx out of it! (Which is never a bad thing!) Shadow Ninja Jinx With the classic Jinx shorter hair look since I had already painted the blindfold before realizing it would hide the long haired bangs too much: With my other versions of Jinx: And the Joe Shadow Ninjas: Unlocking the power:

Nice! I've told you before that I really like this shadow ninja series that you have going. The red and gold paints look great too. Your painting has been super smooth on the last handful of customs. Honestly hard to even tell they are painting and not just cast in those colors.

Also, Shadow Ninja Jinx is awesome! So much creativity with all of the Shadow Ninja customs. And of course, your action scenes are always cool. |

YES! YES! YES! The H&R Shadow Ninja Series is the best! And pours on the awesome sauce with my #1!
LOVE the red & gold! Very Asian motif & I am a fan of the usage of the BF ponytail head & love that you made your own bandana for the clear bangs to show through! SWEET! IMHO Sandals were the right choice! Dio shots make me want to get in their & play lol!!! The Club's Jinx could have been good (the City Strike Scarlett body is terrific, but the small 2004 reused head was a poor choice on their part - so glad their Tiger Force version had that nice new head). Yours takes their idea & makes her into a superstar. I think if your Shadow Ninja series was at retail it would sell like gangbusters, it's like 90s fun brought into 2022 with all of the benefits of modern figures! Charming and cool! ;-) Home run buddy! PS: Thanks for the shout out! XD |

Another cool entrant into the revival of Shadow Ninjas. Can't wait til BFS puts out more translucent colors so you can really expand this roster for all of ninja force.
And thanks for the nod.

Appreciate it! Haha, we?ll see if the next one looks factory because he?s the one that has needed a lot of cleanup because of the colors and fine detail. Quote:
I actually was a big fan of Crimson Guard Commander too (even though I wasn't a huge CG guy), so if you figure out a way, I'll be thrilled to see it.
Also, Shadow Ninja Jinx is awesome! So much creativity with all of the Shadow Ninja customs. And of course, your action scenes are always cool. Thanks! Fun group because I have so much random Boss Fight gladiator fodder so these have been great in helping me thin down that bin of parts. Appreciate it! My buddy said they reminded him of the Hama Ninja Force comic run so I need to revisit those Joe comics, haven?t seen some of the 90?s ones since i was a kid. Quote:

Really happy I took the extra effort to use the long haired head with some sculpt, the alternate display option looks cool but those clear bangs hanging down just really make the entire figure for me. The sandals were super fun to paint as well, haha, never got to paint a set of those yet. Totally agree on the Club?s City Strike repaint, could have been one of their better figures had they given us a proper head for her. The build is super cool but that head.....then like I said, it not being very accurate to the VvV build definitely required me to do something in that wheelhouse. Hahaha, I always laugh when I go downstairs and see the remnants of the photoshoots still set up. One of those, yup, that?s how I spent an hour yesterday. Quote:
No problem! Definitely got some inspiration for this one from you and SB, haha, the next one will have another shoutout to you too. You keep posting those awesome ninjas and making me want more awesome ninjas on my shelves!
