Thanks, I appreciate it! It is awesome to have the three main Baroness versions all in the modern collection now.

Yeah, was a decent box set, just for the price and it being mostly troop builders, I just couldn’t pull the trigger. It did give me a reason to make my own Crimson Baroness though so it was probably a good thing I missed it. Quote:
You put those Retro Baronesses to good use, man. The only thing missing is a better, slightly bigger noggin. There are lots of options for better faces, but none are the right size with the right glasses, so we’re kinda stuck there for now. SDCC version is too big, this one is too small, ROC and Resolute have wrong glasses, etc. I echo everyone else about the fine paint job you’ve done.
Yup, I agree, haha. Really love how these came out but can’t lie and say I’m not keeping an eye out for heads that I feel match the paint job & build better. With boss fight and marauder doing new female heads, kind of wanted to see what they did before trying to mod these ones. Hoping even if they don’t have glasses, if one of them drops a good head for her, maybe I can sculpt some glasses onto them. One way or another, at some point I’m getting the green and gold glasses on these respectively to finish out the looks. Look great on the shelf with the Hasbro heads for now though.

Okay, important one for me today. When I first started posting my customs, I wasn't really expecting a commission request to come my way but then one day someone reached out and really wanted something new done by me on their shelf. So after feeling incredibly honored to receive a request, I started working on a list of figures & build options that I felt would fit my style of creative builds & bright colors and ultimately we were both interested in seeing what I could do with Annihilator.
So because this was a commission for something new and was going to be on someone else’s shelf and not just my own, I really wanted to put together something super clean, bright, with awesome accessories that I felt would pop on a shelf no matter how their collection was displayed. So I began with doing an Annihilator using a full Marauder build.....but then felt for an Annihilator, he sort of needed the helicopter pack so I added one of those to the package and what I came up with was something that I was incredible proud of. So the first ever in the umm, “Orzo: Direct to Consumer” line? haha. Annihilator: But I also wanted to do something special for the person since they really love my work so I decided on a custom Iron Grenadiers flag and figure stand. But I had also had this idea in my head before I decided on adding the custom painted helicopter pack, back when this was a full MTF project....an Annihilator who was more agile on the battle field. And what I decided on was multiple gear up options! So my Annihilator Officer was born. This one would lead the group and be more agile on the battlefield so he could analyze and communicate the best strategy for the group. So let’s give him an officer button, slim down the armor and provide him with a faster means of travel: Annihilator Officer: Then with the Club Annihilator which I like to think I improved on: So to me this was like an Ultimate Annihilator set so here he is laid out with all of his gear: But I also felt like a big part of my customs are the photo shoots so I also wanted to include some pictures in the package: This was a figure I delivered to the person months ago and am very happy to say they loved what they received. It was definitely difficult to send this guy out after he was completed but really rewarding to hear how much the person enjoyed having it on their shelf alongside the rest of their collection. Really excited to finally share this one because it’s one of the customs that I’m most proud of.

You nailed Annihilator! Love all the different parts and the paint job is spot on. He was one of my favorite figures as a kid partly because of that bright orange and purple. Sad we never got him in the 25th line.
I've commented before about him, but that Destro is just amazing. Again, I've always hated that version of Destro, but I would buy that one in a heartbeat if it were released in stores.

Yeah, I’ve always been sort of okay with the Club version until I had this geared up MTF one next to it. Haha, then I knew I’d have to make one of these for myself at some point. Haha, this was the version I was terrified of Hasbro making for the Classified line. Had they started that line with an incredible IG Destro, they had a day one preorder from me. Iron Grenadier was my first Destro growing up, then combine that with the Despoiler which I loved and that this was the Destro you battled in the NES game, just a ton of nostalgia of that version for me.

Great looking interpretation, bud. And a cool kit, to boot.

Orzo: Direct to Consumer Annihilator is a great figure and I'd buy it in a blink of an eye. Too bad there's only one
I can just imagine how they were blown away after receiving it...and the pictures, that's a huge bonus right there! I would think that by now you'd have already received numerous commission requests. I was also okay with the Club offering but really there is absolutely no comparison. Great stuff!! |
