I cracked that bad boy to pieces and gave all the pieces several light coats of whatever default Rustoleum Gold spray paint that was available at Home Depot. Don’t forget to dremel down the joints to avoid any paint rub (although, the spray paint is pretty durable) and reposition the shoulder joints and elbow joints after every coat so you get full coverage.
Look, I understand no one is really interested in me espousing the ongoing minutiae of friggin’ V2 Barricade, but I thought I’d post again to point to a homemade helmet hack that was almost successful. A couple weeks ago, I cut off the bottom 1/3 of Grand Slam’s Riot face-shield to try to make the face-shield look a little more like the vintage visors. I kept that little piece of face-shield figuring I’d do SOMEthing with it. I tried last night to glue it to a half-shell helmet to see what would happen. Well, it almost looked good. Started by painting the face-shield with some Testor’s Clear Red. I tried to sand the face-shield and front lip of the helmet to get both pieces to fit flush, but was ultimately unsuccessful. The face-shield seems to have a slightly larger radius than does the helmet, so the face-shield kinda “wings” out at the ends. But, I guess if anyone with more talent were to try, this could be another customizing option. Just thought I’d share.

Loving the Barricade! He was another favorite of mine growing up, I had both versions so I really need to get after this one to pair with my Club v1.
I was thinking about using one of the Hiya Robocop line figures to do this version of him but you are tempting me to grab a MTF figure and give him the Goldfinger treatment! The build really does look fantastic in gold.

TWEAK TIME
I just wanted to adjust a nagging inconsistency on my Roadblock V5. Previously, I had not cracked the torso and had just left the torso all blue. This time, I replaced the blue T-Shirt arms with black T-Shirt arms and tried to give the torso a sweater vest vibe. Also, I painted a few vertical lines on the torso to mimic sweater ribbing. I also gave Roady something he was missing last time?€?a soul patch and some ear rings ROADBLOCK (V5): 1993

Long time no see. Been away for a while dealing with a couple surgeries. My output will be diminished going forward, but I have a couple today that were all set to go prior to my convalescence. First is a quick and easy one. Most notable, I guess, is the jet pack. I know it doesn?t look like the original glider pattern, but I was having fun painting it?and that counts for something, right?
Anyway, here is Night Vulture? NIGHT VULTURE (V1): 1991 Secondly, any day I have a chance to interpret one of the OG?s is a good day. And Zap is one of my favorites. I didn?t want to deal with the massive backpack, so I just gave him some Commander-Cody/Rocketeer type greebling on his back. I instead gave all the morbidly oversized fun to his missile launcher courtesy of Rise of Cobra. Spraypainted some MTF silencers (suppressors) and glued to his chest, threw in some Exo-Suit legs to approximate Zap?s boots and Viola Davis?Zap V2 ZAP (V2): 1991

Man, you figure out a formula for all the Classic/ARAH Joes (and Cobras). Roadblock was a kinda cool figure for the end of the original Joe run, though I preferred the first version of that mold, with the green sweater. The Night Vulture was a character(s?; can't remember if this was an individual or a trooper) that I wish had been around longer, or at least long enough to make an appearance in the Marvel Comic before I quit collecting/reading them. Super Sonic Fighter Zap is another one that you've made that captures the appearance of the original figure. Anyway, all look really good, and I dig that you gave Roadblock his earrings and painted the ribbing on his sweater-vest.

Really like the tweaks to the Roadblock (that neon pops!), the glider for Night Vulture is spectacular and love how you perfected the Sonic Fighter Zap. Definitely gonna have me taking a second look at my Zap because you just straight up nailed the helmet, shin armor & his chest missiles. Love how this 90’s group came out.
Sorry to hear about the surgeries, hope all is well and you are on the road to recovery. Always enjoy the 90’s goodness I see whenever your thread is updated. Such a huge inspiration in getting me to start making my 90’s guys way back when now.

That is probably my favorite Zap custom ever. I love the look of the original & your homage is spot on with a masterful parts choice!

I did a half-assed version of Low-Light V3 before?and I really wanted to wait until the Marauders site got some more Ranger heads before I posted this guy, but I don?t know if that will happen, so, I figured I?d go ahead and post an updated version of my V3 Low-Light. Nothing special here?just wanted to post something before Christmas
LOW-LIGHT (V3): 1991 Also, when I was building the Crimson Guard Immortal, I was stymied at how to replicate the ?Black Hole? S.T.A.R.-type weapons. I thought about just buying the vintage weapons, but I happened on the Tek-9 machine pistols on the Marauders site and thought I could approximate the Crimson Guard Immortal weapons. I glued a couple of ammo mounts to the bottom guns and ran ammo belts to his backpack. CRIMSON GUARD IMMORTAL (V1): 1991
