This is awesome. This is what he should have looked like. Semper Fi, Devil Dog, Oohrah.
Hey, shouldn't his belt be black? I am sure he is a MCMAP black belt. |

That looks so nice. Perfect with the current modern era joes. Nice detail on the tattoo. Nice paint apps.

It's also a little about the character... Gung-Ho's filecards have mentioned that he's an alligator wrestler. His fighting style is undoubtedly effective, but it might be a bit unconventional.

That's an inspiring custom. From the Nam vest, suppresser, to the head an camo. This Gung Ho is definitely an Ultimate edition.

So, we were both really excited about the new 50th Gung-Ho. I'd been hoping to get this figure since we saw him at JoeCon a few years back. Our take on the Joes - at least for this large custom project - is that we've grown up with these characters. And, in some way, G.I. Joe has influenced our lives. I don't want to put words in Marine Deadpool's mouth, but we both love G.I. Joe, and we've both served in the military. So, as much as we love the classic characters, we want them to evolve in a realistic and tactical way that honors the past and the roots of the franchise. Gung-Ho was always designed as a Jungle specialist. He's a recon Marine from the swamp. So, we honored that with the Jungle/Vietnam era Tiger Stripe camo, and the Green Flak Vest. We're trying to answer the question, "What would a recon Marine from that era have worn for jungle operations?" But we wanted to give him some modern application... Gung-Ho originally carried an M-203 grenade launcher... so we updated that with a modern, Special Ops grenade launcher. And he needed a 1911, because that's what recon Marines carry... in Vietnam and today, but he needed a silencer because he's in recon, and he needs to be Swift, Silent, and Deadly. But his rifle is not a modern M-4 or a SCAR, it's an M-16... it's a rifle the old Marine would have trained with, and just won't give up. I hope you all enjoy the pictures, and if there is any justice on the 'Tank, Marine Deadpool will finally get the recognition he deserves, and this will get front paged.
