im currently trying to finish my gijoe swat team (as well as some customs). now im feeling the joy (and mostly the frustration) of customizing your own figs. need some comments and criticism on them. Sorry for the piss poor pics, might go outdoor next week.
G.I Joe swat team codemane COGs (city operations group) Mayday. Primary MOS: Profiler. Secondary MOS: Sniper. A lowlight protege. shes the team go-to gal for hostage negotiations and psychological evaluation of potential foe. still thinking of changing the hair to ginger plus im looking for some waterslide decals customizer (cause i want to put a big FBI logo on her chest). mayday custom by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr mayday by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr Mace. primary MOS: Undercover agent. secondary MOS: intelligence. If the joes needed a spy, they go to chuckles. if chuckles needs on-hand info on criminals (mafia and drug lords) he go to mace. A little used figure but awesome sculpt. i wanted to use him for a long time but im still looking for a good webgear and helmet for him (the original is too big and im still looking for a good belt for him) mace (1) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr Clutch. Go to driver of the team. I really like the Star Wars Saga Legends Obi Wan head so i bought one, but to my dismay its not a ball-joint format. so i dremel the head and place him on a shock trooper body. instant swat driver clutch custom (1) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr clutch custom (2) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr Lockdown. Door buster. I wanted to use POC lifeline head for a variety of custom so i tried buying a cast head. this is also my first time painting a head but i think i painted too much paint layer on in. hopefully when my 2 extra order arrived i could practice again and make a pathfinder and recoil head (so i could return my LBC pathfinder the original head to my POC lifeline) lockdown (2) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr lockdown (1) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr Long Arm. my EOD expert. I made a thread last year regarding what type of material customizers here used for sculpting http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...een-stuff.html and some awesome tankers chime in and pointed me in the right direction. they were not joking when they say green stuff has a high learning curve. im gonna try sculpting the collar and helmet again but for now im happy with the way it turns out. need to put some EOD patch logo on him to add some design on him long arm (1) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr long arm (2) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr the other members....killshot, shockwave, widescope, beachhead, asihiko and surefire are in this thread but im gonna make a portrait pic next week for the,. Im trying to finish 3 more joe subgroups but for now im starting on this... G.I. Joe Desert Team codename Coyotes Backblast. A pretty much simple LBC with paint (my first time using flesh on a fig). hes basically mutt head on a ult. flint body. just shopping for someone to make me a waterslide decal of the us army logo on the shirt clutch custom (4) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr clutch custom (3) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr Ambush. this is my first try sculpting a beard using green stuff on a joe head. let me know if i get it right or not guys.. ambush custom (3) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr ambush custom (2) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr ambush custom (1) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr |

L to R: Tele-viper, metalhead head, dart and skullbuster other wip (2) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr still debating if im going to use the roc ss/ poc ss arabian/ poc viper arm or use the dg shippy arm. also debating whether to paint the remaining top shirt blue, purple or stay as-is. i want to break the color pallet a little so any suggestion is appreciated. metatlhead im just gonna transplant the head on my LBC metalhead. the head skullbuster is holding is my dart custom...ill be showing the wip body next time. now this guy...im still debating what color pallet to use. any suggestions? other wip (1) by elmobfaelnar, on Flickr |

WHOA!
Sculpting and painting! You're a much braver and more ambitious man than I. They're all looking good, man. Clutch is particularly awesome, and Barricade is such a small-scale version of the Sigma figure that I'm stunned Hasbro hasn't produced it. Keep 'em coming, and get 'em outdoors! |

Damn, man, your display is so dynamic! I should try something like that. Maybe I wouldn't leave my room such a hopeless mess all the time if the display was more interesting to start with.

Haha. Sometimes it's too dynamic. When I need a fig for a photo session they usually tip someone and it's a domino effect. Plus sometimes a fig is a bit hard to place with the rest of the scene, like my mandarin spawn. Can't display him next to the ninjas so I might put him next to the laptop
