I've been "hearing" about this mystical item called the "green stuff" thats been used in almost all additional sculpting / customizing figures. i want to mold a collar for a Long Arm EOD custom and i just need to know what is the "technical term" for it. im not sure if what im seeing in the net is the same as the stuff you customizers here at hisstank use. is it the same as citadel brand green stuff?

no that isn't one, the green stuff for sculpting is made by games workshop and it is a two part modeling putty. I get mine at a local miniature gaming store, but you could order it too. It looks like for you in australia it would be about 17.00 to order

Liquid Green Stuff is good for painting on beards, adding texture, or filling in gaps or seams. It sands well and is pretty forgiving. If it comes a little bit dry in the pot, I have reconstituted it with water and stirred to get it back to a paintable consistency.

I get my greenstuff from ebay. Just mix the two parts together and sculpt with tools. Also use water so the tools don't stick to the putty.

MTN posted the stuff you're looking for and for three feet of it, that's a great price. The liquid stuff is good for exactly what Dusty 79 said, so yeah, I pretty much just repeated what everyone else said...

thanks for the info guys. im checking them out. whats the best brand of modelling putty, kneadatite or games workshop brand?
thanks dusty. regarding the liquid green stuff, can i use this to create a "rough texture effect" similar to POC dusty head? so it adds volume to the beards or create additional beards? |

Also, after application, you can use an exacto knife to carefully scrape a straight edge on the beards or remove some excess to even it out, like I said before, its pretty forgiving stuff.
