This character never sat well with me, but then again, I don't come from the southern US, so I guess it's a cultural thing us Canucks don't quite get. Oh well, I guess the Joes have Wild Bill in his Union Cavalry garb, so I guess it's a Yin/Yang thing, ehh?
This figure will blow your damn mind, 'cause this is my first post of a successful grafting of Star Wars and GI Joe bodies! Take a look at the final pic to get an idea of what I'm talking about... Head: SW Han Solo Body: SW Han Solo upper with 25th Destro lower Arms: 25th CP Shipwreck uppers with Viper lowers Legs: Python Patrol Viper Acc: 25th Roadblock vest, Shockwave cap (closest thing to a kepi) with goggles from a SW figure. It should be noted that the grey paint used actually matches the legs in real life, but my camera's super-sensitive color settings picked up a hue difference and really emphasized it in the photos. Maybe has something to do with how light reflected off the different surfaces? This last photo delineates the seamless grafting of the SW body to the Destro waist. The join was made just above the belt. Keep in mind, the upper torso had to be cracked open to replace the arms, too. This figure demanded a lot of body work, so I hope your enjoyment make it worth it. Hope you enjoyed this figure! Please feel free to check out some of my most recent figures while you're at it! http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ler-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post2596234 . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post2596282 . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post2596351 . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post2596365 . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ark-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post2596417 http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ast-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...neak-peek.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ero-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ml#post2239346 . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...p-s-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...all-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...out-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...top-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...der-prowl.html . http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...aft-prowl.html Gung-Ho http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-ho-prowl.html Covergirl (and Covergirl) http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...een-prowl.html Jungle HISS http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...amo-prowl.html Rampart http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...h-rampart.html Recoil http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...oil-prowl.html Ambush http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ush-prowl.html

Nice man, looks like it was fun putting those torso's together. Love all your other customs too, any plans on making more C.O.P.S. figures?

See, I feel there are two schools of custom figure making. One where the figures are very nicely painted, but can't be moved without the risk of rubbing paint off the joints. My school emphasizes playability, so I try to find factory painted parts to suit my customs. That being said, Hasbro REALLY needs to make more figures with tan and brown legs! There's plenty of black and a variety of shades of green, but only a few in tan or brown. |

That's a pretty good looking figure. Nice meshing of parts, too.

I think we're of the same school, figuratively speaking (ohh, a pun!). But that's impossible to do with things like elbows and feet, to a lesser extent which require friction to work, and Hasbro can't even get paint to stick on the harder plastic of the shoulder joints (though they still try). Legs aren't too tough to do, especially if you have good clearance at the hips.

No, it's not. All you need to do is sand down the joints. I've done every joint on a figure - shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles - and get zero paint rub if you sand it down enough and don't pour paint on real thick after. You need to find the right balance so it's not thin enough to make it loose.
But it is possible.

Pretty awesome rendition!
Very accurate and the part's choice is great, there's little joint paint problems, it looks really solid. Quote:
The Python Viper has grey legs, from what i can guess, is you left the upper leg's grey parts unpainted. Your paint will never match exactly the factory paint (since it's a completely different type) and base plastic has a different shine. If you actually paintey gray anyways, then your paint is reacting with the base plastic (note the grey portion on the inside of the lower arms). basically the factory painted parts are much more solid and your paint will look better. Still, i don't think it's an issue, i totally understand since camera does tend to distort the colors. Quote:
I used the same exact Han Solo torso, but used a 25th CC for lower torso (fits perfectly without having to cut anything), which Destro you used?
