I need precise measurements of various features on the 1980s G.I. Joe vehicles. If anyone has a set of calipers and access to the toys for measuring, please contact me privately. I can compensate for the purchase of tools, but otherwise the reward is simply credit for the task.

The data will be used to guide my treatment of the vehicles in role-playing game write-ups I've been working on. Beyond that, it might be useful to model makers and RC-combat enthusiasts.

(Alternatively, does anyone have a collection of broken/junk toys for sale? Mangled parts that ruin collector value aren't a concern, so long as I can get a reasonable measurement from a remaining wheel, gun barrel, or missile.)

Aren't some of them up on 3DJoes or does Carson not have measurments up? I remember someone tried to start this topic before and it didn't go so well back in the day on here https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...imensions.html

I've not seen such projects before, but then again I'm not looking for mere approximations with a ruler. I need precise measurements of things like gun barrel and missile diameters -- down to hundredths, if not thousandths, of an inch.

Which vehicles are you looking to measure? I don't currently have calipers, but I've got a few vehicles.

For my RPG adaptation, I'm focusing on the earlier years, before things got wacky (so no pogo sticks or buzz saws). My interest is piqued mostly by the HiSS, Moray, and Thunder Machine, but I'll go with whatever's available to be measured.

I think a cheap set of calipers are about twenty or thirty bucks, and I'd be willing to cover the cost, but that only makes sense if you've got, or have access to, at least the first few years of vehicles.

I have the following: Night Raven, HISS, HISS II, Moray, Thunder Machine, Ferret, Stinger, Armadillo, Skyhawk, Devilfish, and Havoc. I also have the Cobra CAT II, which is a re-use of the MOBAT mold, and the Haslab Sky Striker.

I was going to add a list all the armed vehicles and accessories through 1986, but I gave up when it exceeded three dozen. The measuring doesn't have to be all at once, but it's probably best attempted with a complete collection.
