Foods eaten by the ninja. For health, ninja avoided meat, fish, dairy foods, and sugars in favor of a diet centered on whole-grain rice and vegetables. Also, to avoid being detected when sneaking or hiding, they avoided foods that might lead to body odor.

It looks like it's true. I googled it and it comes up on 2 different sites. They avoided foods harder to digest. They even ate foods based on color to help cool them or warm them up.

I've never seen gas station sushi. I guess it would be OK to eat if you needed a reason to miss work.
