By a show of hands, who would be interested in a 1:6 TEC9 for Sideshows Firefly? This will not be cheap. The master would cost me between $300-400. Then you have the cost of the molds. (silicone is quite pricey) The gun is cast in resin from the master mold so you have a highly detailed and sturdy weapon that the figure should have come with. The model maker that would be doing this does exceptional work. So shipped out the door the TEC9 would be about $30-40. That is quite a bit of money on an already expensive figure I know. But in the long run I think it would be money well spent.

Was that really a TEC-9 the original figure came with, though?

I've just given in to the concept of paying roughly $100/figure...... it's gonna take a bit more time for me to come around to spending $30-$40 for a weapon for my $100 figure to hold.

I am not sure I would pay that much. While the ideal sounds great, the cost for one gun is too high for a Doll I am paying over $100.00 already for. You may find some people who are willing to shell out the money but personally I think it is a pass for me.
It is still a great ideal though.

i just looked at the sideshow gallery for firefly , and i actually really like the gun he comes with and love the folding stock. i understand the mold is expensive but i really couldnt bring myself to spend more than 15 - 20bux for the item.
it is a great idea tho.

A lot of different loose 1/6th weapons are available on Ebay (and other websites, I think) too, parted out from other figures. You might be able to find a Tec-9 there too.
But yeah, the gun he comes with works for me. I know CC has it too, but I don't use it with him anyway. The Tec-9 is pretty ghetto for a pro like Firefly anyhow.

i personally think the ff figure is a waste since his outfit and gear look nothing liek his original counterpart or even resolute counterpart. duke, cc, snake eyes all look cintage so why did they drop the ball on ff? hopefully shockwave will be much better. i like the idea of the tech 9 and if i was gettin ff i probably would get it. im sure there will be a demand for them bro.

I agree..that is a great idea, but.....
Why make the vintage weapon for a figure not based on the vintage FF it belongs to? |
