Scarlett, Lady Jaye, Shipwreck and Gung-Ho are the real big misses on the Joe side. Arguably Roadblock too, but there is a Hot Toys movie version of him to compensate. Dusty or Rock 'N Roll could've been dropped to put Shipwreck or Gung-Ho in first. Falcon was a reworking of existing parts so that was going to happen. They hit all the major Cobras you could expect them to except Serpentor.

I hope they come back. I got into the line late and have enjoyed just about all their releases. My biggest complaint is that their prices have gotten too high

It is a bit odd how heavily they've been weighted to Cobras. It was 10 Joes to 15 Cobras up through the Snake Eyes/Timber set. Then they did 5 Cobras in a row so now it's 10 to 20. Falcon was the last semi-realistic military-style Joe they did and that was 2 years ago. So you have to wonder if mixing up the releases a bit with something that would appeal to military tastes would've helped keep interest up. However, there has been movie Roadblock and Colton to fill that void.

Well as their prices kept going up for each figure, I can imagine sales have slowed.
I remember paying about $100 a few years ago. It has basically doubled. I too had hoped the new female body would yield a Scarlett or LJ but I guess not. The list they revealed a few years ago in the form of hints never materialized fully either.

I put a checklist in the 2nd to last post at the below link charting the prices. The Cobra troopers and CC came in at $100, but the first figure, SE, was $120, and no other figures came in under $120. Almost all stayed $135 or under up until the SE with Timber, with one notable exception of Zartan who was $160. After SE with Timber at $200, the others jumped to $175 and then $180. However, using the monthly coupon codes or the current $25 off code on the eligible figures, you can still bring them down at or below Zartan's price from $150 to $160. I certainly hope people do because if they can't sell out of Baroness, I'm not sure they'd ever want to make a Scarlett or LJ.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...checklist.html It was somewhat strange though why they decided to make SE with Timber the highest-produced figure in their line, and Bludd higher than everyone except the first SE and CC. It seemed like the line was in a slight sales decline at that point plus those two were the highest-priced figures they had made to date. And as both a remake of a previous figure and a Cobra who isn't quite at the top tier, they shouldn't have expected demand for those two to be their highest yet. So they kind of have themselves to blame for why those two figures haven't sold out yet. Last edited by JediJones; 06-15-2014 at 02:17 AM.. |

I don't collect this line or know much about it, but I thought they lost the license and hot toys was making these figures now?

Hot Toys gets a separate license because they're based in Asia. But Sideshow has a deal with them where they import some of their figures including Joe and sell them under their U.S. license.

I think Sideshow knew for quite some time that Destro was going to be the last figure they produced before the line was cancelled/put on indefinite hiatus.
Destro was originally scheduled to be revealed possibly in 2011 and "definitely" by 2012's SDCC. The supposed hold up was the development of a new large muscle body that would later be used with Roadblock and Gung Ho. Somewhere along the way, they decided to scrap that idea, wrap up Destro "in progress," and move on to other franchises. |

Have they used the Baroness female body on other figures yet? I've seen reviews that say it was a brand new body debuting on that figure. It seems like they could still use a large muscle body on other characters even if G.I. Joe doesn't continue.
