There doesn't seem to be a lot of discussion about these books, outside of a handful of comments to some of the review threads. Are people not reading them? Or are they just happy to enjoy them, and keeping their commentary to themselves?
Just a little poll to satisfy my curiosity...

Good stuff! I actually just finished re-reading my way through the entire series' (from Marvel #1....all the way to DD AE #36). It took me about a year to get through them all...but it was good fun. A lot of them I hadn't read since I was a kid.

Mehh..I have to force myself to read joe comics after the serpentor "Clone Wars"
and i hated how the team kept breaking up. and how Wraith killed Snake Eyes and they revived him with "Ninja Magic" *sigh* |

Yes, I am reading the IDW series. I really enjoyed the first story arc in G.I.Joe Origins, and I continue to like the main series. I'm waiting to buy "Cobra" as a trade paperback. I'm also collecting all of the classic Joe volumes, which I have never read most of the issues.
Fun Facts: In "Origins" issue #0, Duke says he has a sister in Spokane, WA. That's where I live! (lamest fun fact ever) In G.I.Joe (IDW) when Snake Eyes and Mainframe drive to Springfield, they pass through Kennewick, WA, right past my parent's house on the Yakima River. (sort of) |

That, more than anything else, is the series you want to read!! Slogging through the first arc of the main series didn't seem so bad, knowing there was an issue of Cobra to enjoy as well. Every page is frigging brilliant in all five issues so far. I'm eagerly waiting for the second outing.
The only let down this far has been the movie adaptation. It was...rushed, and hard to follow (serving better as a reminder of what you'd seen on screen, and not so much a stand alone effort). The "prequel" issues were enjoyable enough...and I've not yet read the Amazon exclusive issue, nor any of the subsequent tie ins.

nahhh i quit reading comics YEARS ago....besides nowadays theres liek MAYBE 12 pages of story all the rest is previews for other books and useless ad's...and the price's on comics...DEAR CHRIST!!!! almost 5 bucks a freakin issue (like four bucks n change but you all get the idea)...for so little story the price aint right... ditch the ads and previews and fill comics today with f'in story like when i was a kid (yes i know comics erven then had ads but it sure as poop was a lot less of em) and stop tryin to get 5 bucks a comic and i might go back to readin em...

I'm a couple behind I think. I never really got into comics much. These are cool enough to keep me interested. I have problems figuring out which ones I dont have because of the extra covers and different story lines.

Thanks for the heads up, Klinton. I've heard that before. My local comic shop kept selling out, and I decided to wait until it was collected. I agree with you on the movie adaptation, but those usually suck anyway.
By the way, did anyone else buy the Snake Eyes variant cover for G.I. Joe #3? It is the coolest cover ever! |
