If everyone wants a Death Star as badly as they say they do, why are 4” SpaceWalls still in stock? That company is doing a modular Death Star, just like everyone keeps clamoring for, yet I have not seen pics of anyone who has dropped $500 yet.

6" Black Series and imports. My dilemma is when something like the Range Trooper comes along. Do I buy it in 6"? 3.75"? Both? I haven't seen the movie or anything; I just think he's cool, so that's leading me to wanting him for the smaller scale, where I tend to throw out the rules of canon and do things like treat a troop builder like a stand-alone character, making up a name and backstory, and just have him in the background somewhere, hanging out. Whereas with 6", I would only think of a Range Trooper as a Range Trooper.
I have run into the same dilemma as you with Marvel. I collected the 4” because I wasn’t impressed with the Legends sculpts at that time. I collected 4” Marvel as a kid so it felt natural. Then around the Hulk Buster BAF wave I noticed how good the figures started looking, especially the females (mostly). The 4” was running dry so I jumped over to the Legends scale. Yeah I’d like a Quin Jet but other than that I have motorcycles now. (Cap needs one!) but luckily they have done little with the 4” since. Marvel was never about vehicles in any scale so for that brand 6” works for me. Plus I’m not into troop building for Marvel. When it comes to AIM, Hydra, etc I just want villains. The only faction I’d consider troop building in 6”Marvel would be Hand ninjas. Now that Hasbro is getting back into the 4”Star Wars with vigor I’d hate to be torn. If you collect other lines as well it can really stretch your toy budget. Maybe set some limits in your Legends scale collection? I collect SideShow/Hot Toys Star Wars and try to limit that collection so it doesn’t get out of hand. But it still does get out of hand.

For the Range Troopers specifically, one option would be the Vandor playset coming out late this year. They’d be pretty at home there, and would then come closer to meeting one of your themes. |

So in light of the news, what are everyone’s collecting plans?
Myself, I’m going to add the rest of the Solo waves when they come out later this year, I’m sure a second Royal Guard to complement my three-pack one, and maybe fill in a couple gaps of figures I haven’t found yet, like Moloch and the Mimban stormtrooper. I am pretty attracted to the Kessel playset and the smaller. new sculpt TIE fighter as well, so likely will put them on my Christmas list. In Vintage, I’m looking at picking up a couple Hovertank drivers, eventually a Han and Enfys Nest, and then a Range Trooper from wave 3. Will get a pair of Dr Aphra’s, one two use as her and one to make into a Rebel Fleet Trooper. And then for 2019, a Yakface and a Klaatu, a Lando, and a bunch of Stormies, as well as a Death Star gunner and a Revan when the time comes. I’m on the fence about the hovertank— I think it’s amazingly well done and can accept the price, but I wasn’t wild about the design in the film. All told, I’m looking at 12 figures between now and next July, duplicates included, plus however many stormtroopers I get, probably four at minimum, easily more if they’re plentiful. Plus whatever is revealed later... Probably nothing in other scales/lines, though I’m intrigued by the Mafex Boba Fett... Last edited by books; 07-21-2018 at 01:03 PM.. |

I just got my Imperial tank in from Amazon today. It fits the bill of the vehicles I collect with great paint and details and no obvious corners cut. I'm happy to support it at full price and if it goes on sale, I'll get a second one.
My 6" collection is focused almost exclusively on OT era figures, so Rogue One and Rebels fall into that category. Some exceptions include Darth Revan, Jaina Solo, Jango Fett, and Darth Maul. Not sure yet if I want to get any of the Solo stuff in that scale. My "To Buy" list for 6": Bespin Han, Rebel Fleet Trooper X2, Bespin Leia, Hoth Leia, Dengar, Zuckuss, Ezra Bridger, Chopper, Gamorrean Guard, General Veers, Jabba's Palace Lando, SH Figuarts Leia, SH Figuarts Emperor and throne, SH Figuarts Royal Guards X2 My "To Buy" List for 4" TVC: Dr Aphra SDCC 3-pack, Imperial Tank Driver X3, Stormtrooper X8, Death Star Gunner, Klaatu, Range Trooper X?, TIE Fighter On top of Star Wars, I collect Mythic Legions, Marvel Legends MCU, NECA TMNT, Storm Collectibles Mortal Kombat, MOTU Classics, Diamond Select Ghostbusters, Marauder Task Force, Vitruvian HACKS, 3rd Party Masterpiece Transformers, MAFEX Nolan Trilogy Batman, and other random things such as Elite Force, NECA Aliens, and the Hiya Toys Aliens APC. I'd probably be into Hot Toys too if I trusted them to hold up over time. Last edited by SmokePants; 07-21-2018 at 06:51 PM.. |

10 new Storm Troompers, 2-3 Tank drivers (for my new tank) 5 Death Star Gunners, 2 of Klatuu, Yak Face, and Revan. I’ll pick up a Rio in 3 3/4 if the do it. Other than Rio I have no interest in anything else from Solo (unless the new Storm Trooper is technically from Solo). Have 1 new Tie inbound so won’t bother with the smaller Solo/FL Tie then. Will grab a couple more TVC Ties if I can find them on Walmart.com. For 1/6th scale. I have the ESB Vader on preorder and would like to upgrade my ESB SideShow Fett with the pending Hot Toys version. I’d like to grab the Bespin Leia since I have Bespin Luke and I’m guessing Bespin Han is not far behind. If I have a good amount of point to knock down the price maybe the Darth Maul. I’m. It not a big fan of the prequels but I do love Maul.

I plan on blowing up my collection with firecrackers.
Nah, modern firecrackers are too weak for that. I keep on with the clearance "collecting" of 5 POA stuff. I guess I'll buy any VOTC worth getting if I see them at retail. I will not play the aftermarket game. Nor will I buy whole cases to get certain figures. I don't care that much anymore, if I every did. |

I'm sticking with 3.75''/4''. I love that scale too much. I have no desire to move over to 6'', or NECA's 7'' figures, or anything else.

Yep. I'l never collect any 6" anything, but that goes double for Star Wars. It'll be decades before they catch up with their 3.75 catalog, actually since they keep getting sidetracked with new characters. And pretty much no EU, to boot.
