with the new leia and r2 going to 10 bucks so soon, i was hoping this was the new msrp for vintage collection. the deathtrooper deluxe has been discounted as low as 9 bucks. i bought mine at 17 bucks. take that stupid thing away, and it's a 10 dollar figure.
another thing is i just dont think the single carded death trooper for 17 dollars is that great of a deal considering the above, and it's wasting the space of a character that hasnt been released yet (which is typical of hasbro to do). the fact that they rerelease the same figures over and over again, they should start making this line cheaper. but the "gotta have it the minute it comes out" crowd, i dont feel bad for them paying 27 bucks for this to go on clearance and ultimately be re-released again (see clones and troopers) doesnt tell hasbro they're making bad choices. hasbro sees it selling. hasbro raises the price. im going somewhere with those thoughts, but i cant seem to find the destination. |

All I know is, I hope they still release 1/18 Cobb Vanth whether as a deluxe or not. If Sabine ends up being the last deluxe and they scrap the practice ALONG WITH scrapping Cobb's figure I'll be griping about that one for a long time.

yeah i REALLY want a cobb vanth. he's going to be deluxe because he has fett's armor tax.
not thrilled with that, but it is what it is. jango is deluxe, so if it's not him being the last, then cobb will be. |

I don't know why they don't card everything, even if they want to increase the price (like they did with the Morak Boba or Spider Mandalorian), because the box packing is fucking dumb either way. It's also worth noting that Jango's price is like 25.99 and not the usual 27.99.
Revan is the last figure I can remember that couldn't be had for a discount on Amazon shortly after its release. Hasbro is killing itself, and I don't think the 5 collectors who really wanted a carded Dark Trooper are going to justify that expense as a mainline release. Pricing was shaky enough at $15, and then retroactively raising prices on Pulse for figures that were released at the 12.99 and 14.99 price points and then talking bullshit about tooling amortization like that shit is the problem of your customer.

I don't know if I'm going to get killed for suggesting this, but I really think Hasbro needs to restart a 5POA series (or something of similar quality) at a more affordable price point. Especially if it helps us get characters and/or army builders we'd probably never even get in the super-articulated format.

To all of your points from earlier, Hasbro has the same problem that Lucas did for a long time and won?t get out of their own way.

5POA appealing to kids is a fucking myth. It?s selling trash to adults who don?t know better. Nothing dulls my son?s interest like a figure he can?t play with because it?s basically a statue. They need to drop the price of TVC so it?s viable-at least on repacks and evergreen characters.

The only reason why the epic star wars figures are 5poa is because hasbro is selling more articulated star wars figures for 6-20 bucks more.
They could make them exactly like the marvel ones but their dickhead ceo isnt making enough coke money that way. I don't even hate 5poa. I have everything waiting for my son to play with. Just as i was excited to play with the potf2 figures when i got them. I am pumped as hell mando is a 5 poa figure so when he gets these he has a Mando to go along with them. |
