So the club operates at a financial loss? Not sure how that’s possible. I mean, mathematically.
And FWIW, Marauder already proved this can be successful, so the only question is whether Big H thinks the margin is worth the energy. Last edited by solosam; 02-20-2018 at 02:46 PM.. |

I think an FSS like program out of HasLab is a very real possibility.

Does anyone know roughly how many Con Sets and or FSS subs the club sells every year? I don’t know if they make that public or not. I would think that Hasbro sold well more than Club numbers of the recent 50th two packs and three packs but still considered that line to be “not profitable enough” to continue doing. I would believe Hasbro and smaller companies look at profitability slightly differently. Would Hasbro be happy with profits that would make say Maruader John or Boss Fight happy? (I think they are the better comparable because the Club has to license.) They’d be happy with individual unit profit margin but not in the total profits based on scale. I seem to remember in Derryl DePriests interview on Full Force, he said it wasn’t that the Joe 50th wasn’t profitable. It’s simply Hasbro decided it was better to diverst those resources elsewhere. That kind of leads me to think, a line that has more volume. Just my two cents. Yo Joe! |

Well, for one, Hasbro could offer better prices than the Club and wouldn't require membership. I think the pre-order component is the point. Hasbro can decide how many units are worth its while and if they don't get the numbers, they don't produce. It's very low risk on their part.

Unless they find 50k people willing to pay around $30 a piece I don't think that would be profitable for Hasbro. In the other hand, what mold would they use? Vintage or modern? Either decision they make they will lose the other fanbase. The only way to go is vehicles and playsets you use with the figures you prefer.

Does anyone know how well the DTC line did on HTS back in the day? That's kinda similar to what we're thinking here, right?

It’s certainly possible but would Hasbro be happy with numbers that the Club considers good?

For a set of figures, which would require much less development, Hasbro could likely cut that number in half to con set numbers. |

Don’t get me wrong, i hope it happens but then you run into what has already been mentioned, the Joe fandom gets splintered over O-ring vs modern, who to do and what version. Last edited by Mainframe77; 02-21-2018 at 12:03 AM.. |

We know the con sets are usually only a couple of thousand, and the attendee sets only around 1000.
