I disagree...i think this was and IS the PERFECT time to kick HASBLOW in the beans. They cancell EVERYTHING that we were gonna get and only offer us crappy movie product and then turn the good stuff into ONLINE ONLY exclusives. Its more like Hasblow kicked all US fans in the beans.

I love when people who have no idea how a company like Hasbro works in terms of product development, packaging, marketing, retail buyers, etc. are determined that it is Hasbro's doing when anything goes wrong or things aren't released. General Hawk is exactly right. The buyers backed out. Hasbro didn't pull these on their own. There is no ridiculous conspiracy to rob you of your precious toys. It's just what goes on behind the scenes every day of nearly every major company that has products in stores. The designers at Hasbro took silos of the concept product (either requested by the retailers or something they were trying to sell to the retailers) and sent them to the retailers to start the process of selling the toy to them. Once the retailers get the concept pictures, some of them or their employees obviously take it on themselves to release them to other outlets. This particular concept could have gone back and forth between the buyers and Hasbro for a while before the buyers backed out. There could be many reasons for them to back out. They could have decided they didn't want similar vehicles to ones already released. They could have decided to skip the particular wave. Hasbro could have been tossing around the idea of holding off on them and releasing them in the movie packaging, and the retailers might have agreed and thought it was the best way to do it.
Point is, it's totally normal. The vehicles will be released in one form or another. There was a good and perfectly normal reason to not release them when they did. |

On your point though, they sure have brought happiness to our lives . . . though not to our wallets.

Someone from Hasbro can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they own the factories. I believe Hasbro merely leases a facility to produce certain product. This is why you find variations in production of toys from a single line. As some factories use different materials, etc. I believe there was even Hasbro statements that confirm this especially when some products fall short of expectations or when collector/consumer critiques have impact.

I think it sucked that we didn't get the vehicles.
I hope they don't pull the Cobra Island packs though. |

I doubt it since those are online only. But you never know with hasblow. I mean if they can(and did) arbitrarily cancel all the stuff before the movie who's to say they may not decide to do the same with these.

I am 97% sure all three will be released in the movie line. The only difference for the Stinger and Arctic HISS will be the packaging. The FLAK/CLAW set will have different action figures.
Or so I prophesy. |

The crappy movie product that has the potential to sell better than any GI Joe product in years? I really want to know what fantasy some of the people here live on. Hasbro is in the business of selling toys. They would NOT disregard ANY chance to sell a few more toys if they had the chance AND if retailers would carry them. The ONLY reasons they would cancel product would be if they believe it would gain them more in the long run, or if retailers refused to carry it.
