Instead of boycotting, bitching and acting angry why don't we try thinking of some positive corrections that HTS could make next year.
1) Clearly fix the servers. Demand is high no matter what is offered and the long checkout times should not be happening. 2) A set schedule. instead of people camping out follow Mattel's policy and state that 11 am est the product will be up. Perhaps even break it down to east servers by putting up similar products at set times. 8 am could be Transformers 11 am GI Joe 2 pm Marvel 5 pm the rest. 3) Make a deal with the collectors club to offer a set amount. I know this year they weren't abler to do this but if a couple hundred could be preordred by the club members it would cut down on the traffic for the site and get sets to more fans and not scalpers. 4) Fix the chart system. If a product sells out, then just remove it form the chart and show a message that it was sold out and gone. Making customers remove it loses their spot in time and offers a poor shopping experience. 5) Do some sales research. Every year it always seems that the Joe exclusives sells out before anything else. Perhaps a slight increase in product. I know the destro set scared them a bit but someone must know that classic characters that haven't been around in years always sell more than movie or another Snake Eyes. |

A positive thread with no juvenile bitching? You're treading thin ice buster.
Oh and I also agree. Shit happens and lets hope they learn from the experiance. Staggering item releases would have helped a great deal. Good Idea.

I wrote this on a different thread but here are the more well received ideas:
1) Stagger the days. Day 1 - Joes. Day 2 - Transformers. Day 3 - Star Wars. Day 4 - Marvel. Day 5 - Everything else. That should reduce some of the traffic on the site. 2) Make the exclusives only different in terms of packaging. A lot of folks would love a Lowlight on a 25th cardback. Make it so! Just like SW this year, put out figures either already released or soon to be released on an exclusive cardback for uber-fans. For "openers", it would stop being a "must buy".

6) Take down my name and address so they can just send one of each to me and save me sometime.
Otherwise I agree with everything the OP said. |

I like the staggering of days idea but I really feel they need to make it so that if there is an item in someone's cart, it's theirs until either checkout or a set time frame like a few hours. I own an online store and if someone has an item in their cart, no one else can buy it (talking as if there's only 1 left) until they either pay or the cart times out. If this were the case, people like me who were there early enough to "snag" something won't lose it due to clogged servers and checkout issues.

It might also mitigate the need for additional hardware -- because really, there's no compelling business need for more hardware for a measly 6 hour window when there are a total of 8760 hours in a calendar year. They could also offer WEB exclusives at the same time. Like this ARAH carded Low-Light idea. So maybe you'd have all these SDCC exclsuives, plus 3 or 4 WEB exclusi-- oh wait, that just gets us back to square one. What you said - one item a day. |

People have had the same complaints about the Starscream Skystriker, Suited Cobra Commander, and PDD that they have had about Zarana, so I don't think it would have made a difference.

You wanna please the crowds? Make 10,000 of each exclusive! That way we should have enough time to get stuff. If they can make 100,000 Artic Destros that will not sell... why not make 10,000 of each Zarana and Starscream!

If the items are as limited as they seem, they should really run a Lottery.
They can set up a Pre Order...announce the times that the Pre-order will go live and it will only be live for 24/48/etc. hours. People can Pre-order what they want, limit of one item per person. Then pull the lottery, start pulling names of people who pre-ordered until supplies are exhausted. Continue each lottery pull for each exclusive item. Fulfill people's orders, tally shipping, etc. Send an apology letter to people who's pre-orders were unable to be fulfilled |
