These costumes come of as, at turns, Direct to video cheesy(Snake Eyes), and blandly immemorable(most everyone else). I think the baroness would look more distinct and at the same time believable in a real-world adaptation of her classic hardshell vest/shirt/leather/glasses getup.

Why is everybody assuming that they're wearing the power suits? In the script, they're described as a lot bulkier than the outfits they're wearing in those photos with helmets.

I need someone to explain this to me. Looking over all the pictures, what's different about Wayans from any of the other Joes? He looks serious enough and tough enough in that costume to suit me just fine. Why is he considered by so many to be "miscast?" The Ripcord I remember from the comics was something of a goof. All I can remember was that he was in love with a dancing baloon selling bear, and that he was accidentally disguised as Zartan for a time. I don't remember him at all from the cartoons. What about this character is impossible for Wayans to pull off?

Also, to all the naysayers out there saying this will rape there childhood, get over it. Things you remember from 25 yrs ago will never be as cool as they once were. The toys from 1984 arent as cool as we want to remember, the cartoons had massive flaws that we overlooked and forgot about, and movies that get made or revisited 25+ yrs later always fail short of our expectations, for most people the prequal sw movies fell really short, transformers fell short, the joe movie will fall short, for others, they'll love it. either get over it now or dont bother spending $10 on a movie ticket to see the movie. Hasbro wont care, the movie studio wont care, the actors wont care, thats sadly life.
Oh and btw... the live action he-man movie sucked when it came out in the 80s and the show was still on. and yet most of us here probably loved it and still do, these movies, plain and simple, arent made for the 25+ yr old fan, and what little kids think is cool now is NOT what we thought was cool back then. They tried to depict them in a realistic light in that transformers/ Joe crossover set in WWII. The fans hated it. Fans of other comics always seemed to kinda rip on Joe, but you know what! I could buy the Joe's way sooner than Hulk, or X-men. It's like GI.Joe is stooping down to that level Last edited by GI.Dan; 04-18-2008 at 02:00 PM.. |

I like all the pic's, they go well with the time period of the movie. Had the movie been taken place during the 80's or 90's, the traditional outfits would be make more sense. But as is, the movie is more futuristic, so it goes well. I mean hovercrafts, plasma rifles, battle androids, exactly how I thought the outfits would look.

I could care less about the Wayans guy. Remember he's an actor...so let him act. The thing I'm concerned about is art direction and the fact that it is going in the wrong direction.
Let's make our voices heard...change the costumes to something more traditional Joe. They will listen if we make enough noise. |

I'm fine with these, for the most part. I also don't quite get the mouth on SE.
And the sunglasses on the Baroness = likely product placement.
