1.So the Cobra Soldiers and Officer from 1982 could be the Vipers of 1986. The Cobra Officer from 1982 had a lot more going for them than the ones from 1998.
2.In 1991 Heavy Duty was introduced as a Heavy Ordnance Trooper. In his Filecard he is a classical guitarist in his spare time. He likes play Bach`s Two Part Invention in D-Minor. In 1993 Heavy Duty was part of the Star Brigade Armor Tech Series. In his Filecard he is a claasical musician who likes playing Tchaikovsky`s 1812 Overture. In his 2002 Filecard he likes playing classical music in large symphony Hall. His motto is the sound of violins and the explosions of anti-tank missiles are both music to my ears. In 2003 his Filecard says he took over Roadblock`s position as Heavy Machine Gunner and wants to be an aspiring chef. |

I like Oliver's idea of using the Blueshirts as support personal, but how do you work in the Bazooka Trooper?
I can see the Stinger Drivers being mechanics and such. What about HISS Drivers? They aren't technically Vipers.

I've been wondering ever since Zulu started changing some of the Joes to Warrant Officers, what role do these guys serve. I mean does every unit have a Warrant Officer, or is it only at the Battalion level? There are not that many, but I figure they are paid like officers, and they have high levels of expertise so they would be useful to have around. I'm surprise more Joes aren't Warrant officers.
Still is the only infantry MOS for Warrant officers 180A(Special Forces)? The intelligence fields have many, but I wonder what type of units make use of the Warrant officers? |

In my 'verse, blue shirts form the backbone of all Cobra operations. They are the troopers / support personnel and general dogsbodies of Cobra. All conscripts start as a trooper then progress to the Viper ranks.
Troopers operate in squads, commanded by Cobra (NC) Officers. Troopers (militia men, thugs, criminals etc) are trained in Vance Wingfield's Strike First or recruited and trained within individual Cobra terror cells. The most promising recruits are sent to Springfield where they endure Basic Viper training. persons who've served in any formal military can join the Vipers directly. After Basic, Vipers move onto AIT and different military specialties. General Infantry = 1985 Vipers Signals = Tele Vipers Engineering = Techno Vipers etc Then there are the special schools that require experience (Eels, Range Vipers, Alley Vipers etc).. The progression is therefore Cobra Trooper > Viper > Can go anywhere Cobra Gunner > SAW Viper Cobra Bazooka Trooper > HEAT Viper / Fast Blast Viper > WORMS Cobra Grenadier > Frag Viper / Flak Viper > WORMS Cobra Flame Thrower > Shock Viper > Incinerators Laser Troopers > Laser Viper Radioman > Tele Viper > Pit Viper / Cyber Viper Demolitions Trooper > Techno Viper > Shadow Viper Desert Trooper > Sand Viper > Desert Scorpions Armor Cobra Driver (Stinger) > Motor Viper > CLAWS Cobra Hiss Driver > Track Viper Cobra Tank Driver > Tank Viper Cobra Snow troopers > Snow Vipers (Arctic Pack) Hostile Environment > Toxo Vipers Night Watch (MP) > Viper Guards > Alley Viper (SRT) Air Force Cobra Air Trooper > Air Viper > AVAC / Aero Viper > Strato Viper > Astro Viper / Star Viper / Vapors / Black Stars or >Gyro Viper > Heli Viper or Glider Trooper > Air Viper > Sky Creepers / Air Devils Cobra Navy Cobra Diver / Naval (DTC Trooper) > Aqua Viper > Hydro Viper > Eel > Lamprey / Moray or Sub Viper / Secto Viper > Sea Slug or Eel > Snow Serpent > Ice Viper / Para Viper The Toxo Vipers and Desert Scorpions used to be used as a deterrent nd punishment for bad conduct but they've progressed away from that but they still retain an internal stigma. Vipers who excel in their chosen professions and display outstanding qualities can become Imperial Guards or become Crimson Vipers. Crimson Vipers get university grad level education and are eligible for the Crimson Guard. All Crimson Guardsmen are Crimson Vipers when in Basic military training before graduation to Guardsmen. Vipers who excel in martial arts / close quarter combat are invited to become Ninja Vipers. The Bio Vipers, Elite Vipers, Monsto Vipers and all V or Venom troops are a separate organization called the V Nation under Venomous Maximus on Cobra Island. One Viper per legion joins the elite Plague Troop and leadership ossilates between whoever is the top Eel, Snow Serpent or Para Viper depending on seniority. haven't decided how to use Python Patrol. They're either Serpentor's or Golobulus's troops.. Last edited by Tyroc; 08-25-2009 at 01:22 AM.. |

man Mine is pretty close to yours. I never gave much thought to the Air Force guys though. I might have to steal some of these.
I too use the DTC troopers as Naval Troops, they just look like they are in wet-suits. I never figured out the CLAWS. They almost seem like a seperate entity. You have them coming out of the driver corp of troops. I tend to use them as gunners since I have a good 20 or so but all different colors. I got all the V troops under venomus Maximus as well. I have him under Serpentor though. I like to pretend he is a failed clone for Serpentor, but Serpentor treats him like a brother, and he was given control of many of the V troops. I always have all the guys go Viper training first afterwhich they can specialize into the various other viper specialties. That way they can still role back to being a Viper commander eventually since many of the Viper teams must be attached to a squad, like say the SAW, FRAG, Tele, & HEAT-Vipers. But you have a great way of bringing in the Bazooka Trooper. I only own one Crimson Viper so he is one of the Unit Commanders, but you have a great way to add them in. So do you view the Imperial Guards as what? I see them as a way for the Commander to bring in a squad of highly trained Range-Vipers to make the Range-Vipers happy and to keep an eye on the Crimson Guards as well. I view the Range-Vipers as Green Beret equivalents. Couple of questions for you Tyroc: What is a Tank-Viper, or an Aqua-Viper? How do you figure the Pit-Vipers come from Tele-Vipers? They are sort of like Pythonized-vipers right? Isn't Vapors an individual and not a type of Viper? I got 4, but only 2 Hurricanes. |

Pit Vipers, I have 2 and always thought being infiltration vipers, they'd need Tele Viper (signals /info tech) training. Don't have any Vapors. Always thought it was a group not an individual. Oops. I do have a Hurricane though. Cool vehicle. Aqua Vipers are new ROC figures that are coming but from memory look more like traditional vipers rather than the darker Neo Vipers. Truth be told, I think I swiped the idea to use the DTC as Naval Troops from you |

Tank Vipers are my own invention, I use the Battle Corps 1994 Vipers as Tank troops.

Truth be told, I think I swiped the idea to use the DTC as Naval Troops from you I use the 94 vipers as Iron Anvils since they match the colors of the Annihilators almost exactly. I can see how the Pit-Vipers come out of the Tele-vipers. I really never gave them much thought as to what would be their feeder branch. I must of missed the Aqua-Viper? I see a Combat heroes version on the front page. i have a convention Air Viper I use as Vapor but I've never settle on a name for the rest. What would they be called? Then again what would they call the other Rattler Pilots? I wish the Air-Vipers they made for Target with the glider were a better color than the one they choose. They just don't look good. |
