GREAT looking Gyro-Viper! I'm slowly converting all of my Vipers to a Marauder build, and these last few customs of yours have been inspiring.

The female Gyro-Viper looks good, and she seems at home in the FANG. I wish that Hasbro would update some of their vehicles for POC size Joes, which in turn would make them compatible with the MTF and other 1/18th scale figures. Maybe the new Wal-Mart Retro Collection will give us some more updated vehicles... Here's hoping!

Progress on my current project is going well, hopefully he'll be ready to show off early next week! I might post some other stuff beforehand too! |

Thanks for the advice man! I'll play around with the WW build I drafted up once I can actually buy the parts; it'll be nice to actually pull my Rattler outta the basement. I'm thinking of using the Angel Forge sculpt, so I'll see how that fits. Also, I appreciate the pics!

Alright, here we go! Work's slowed me down, but I'm hoping to spend my birthday freetime finishing up my current project, and maybe touching up an older one that I've also brought out of storage. As for now, here's two of my favorite Vipers. First up is the SAW-Viper, the female version of which was my second MTF custom (her build's been redone since that though):
I noticed here that the male armor vest is cut much lower; they don't want us ogling the guy's booty, but the gal's is A-OK lol. Somewhere along the way this version of the SAW-Viper just became one of my favorites. It might be the bright purple and green color-combo, since I've always liked those paired up. I'm planning to switch them all out to the more detailed, smaller SAWs, but they're in my last order so they won't be here for a while along with some gray knives I want to put on their backs. Maybe some little armor panels on the chests, too... As an aside, not sure if it's visible, but the Viper on the right has a bit of a bum left leg; it falls off really easy, and doesn't seem to sit on the T-bar right. I'm planning to buy a replacement when they're in stock (I've tested the leg on other waists to make sure it's not an issue with his), but I'm also considering dremelling it in the meantime. Advice is appreciated! |

And here's my Alley-Vipers, another one of my favorites. This build was really easy to piece together after I saw the gray-on-black figures, since that matched the POC Alley-Viper color scheme pretty well.
Just need to do one more and a squad-leader/Alley-Viper commander. Gonna do a take on Gallows out of his Plague uniform as the leader of the SAW-Vipers eventually. |

Oh yeah, those SAW-Vipers and Alley-Vipers are great builds! The MTF bucks and the Hasbro accessories work well together on these figures. And yes, try to Dremel the SAW-Viper's leg to make it a bit deeper socket, but use a bit that is smaller than the ball joint, so the ball is tighter in the socket... That way you don't have to get an extra set of legs unnecessarily.

Solid work.
That leg problem is actually pretty common. You don't need to dremel. Boil it for a few seconds, then drop it in some cold water. The hole should close up a bit, and when you pop it back on, it will have a tighter fit. This advice came straight from MJ, and I have employed it to success multiple times.

Yeah, if you can get it to go on correctly without the Dremel, I'd do that, but if there is excess material that is blocking the socket from being able to fully receive the ball joint, it may be needed... From your pictures, I thought it looked like the latter, which was the reason for my suggestion, but that may have been hasty.
