Once again simultaneously half halfassing it, and somehow putting a bunch of effort into making it look like I didn't do all that much. If that makes sense. The last two pics show the beginning of the progress as I assaulted the figure, and my fingers, with a permanent marker.
This mold used for the 2nd 5 pack Baroness was awesome, but the silver highlights all over her always bugged me, and made her look like she stole her clothes from a Drow Matriarch. I didnt care for the paint deco on the the resolute pack Baroness all that much either. At first this was just going to be a body for another Cassandra Knox custom, left mostly gray with some corrections to the half painted thigh boots and making the torso look like a full armored apron vest thing... But then I just kept going with the sharpie. I always liked the original Baroness being a simple cost saving figure like Snake-Eyes. Really liked the minimal all black body with just the red insignia. After letting the ink dry for a few days I then went over her with testor's dullcote. Let that dry, moved the parts around a little, touched up the nooks and crannies (insert joke here) and added another layer of dullcote. Waited a few more days and then went over with glosscote to give her a satiny, new toy look. Last edited by In Like Flint; 01-14-2012 at 10:27 PM.. |
