Welcome to the new showdown over 6-Inch G.I. Joe Black Series figures. We have already seen Round One go down with a small victory in favor of producing a 6″ G.I. Joe line. Now more then ever, a new scale or size class is needed in the ARAH G.I. Joe Universe. Not only would the new size class bring back a huge chunk of the larger ARAH G.I. Joe fanbase, it would also bring in new collectors from the 6″ realm of collecting.
Over the years I have seen a lot opinions on size class and people who discounted the G.I. Joe Modern Era Body style as a “fad” that would be short-lived. I have seen a lot of the “Old Guard” swear up and down they would never collect modern era. However we all know that the G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Line ignited the brand, and launched G.I. Joe back into the spotlight. Since that time, we have had two live action G.I. Joe Movies with different levels of success, and a big decline in retail sales of the G.I. Joe Brand.
If something is not done soon to bring back the larger pool of fans, ARAH G.I. Joe will be limited to Collecting FSS figures and whatever the G.I. Joe Club decides to produce. This may be fine for the Hardcore Collectors who are willing to buy figures at 3x the cost of major retail, but will kill the line for the general collecting public. The popularity and character selection is just not there in 4 inch scale. I can personally see the G.I. Joe Club running into problems with the same topic after FSS 3.0.
The bottom line is will you support G.I. Joe 6″ Black Series?
Sound off after the jump and let us know how you feel about G.I. Joe 6″ Inch but most of all cast your vote!

It's a Yes or No Poll no walking the fence.

I've supported almost every other iteration of GI Joe so far, including Kre-o & Sigma Six, but I just don't think I have it in me anymore. If I want something more detailed than a 3 & 3/4" figure, I'll give my money to sideshow. I might buy one on occasion if it's a character/design I really enjoy, but I would not be a completest as I have been with other lines.

Definitely not.
Too much money already invested into the 4 inch line, plus there would be little to no vehicle support for a six inch line.
On top of that there are a ton of characters, and that would be a very costly line to complete. Not my bag baby.

I voted 100% yes. The tooling for the bodies is already produced if they use Marvel Legends as the base and I always wanted to see what could be done in the 6" Scale. After looking at what's going on with Star Wars 6" Black Series I think Hasbro is missing out on a huge opportunity to pull blood from stone.
Hasbro has it's hands full trying to figure out what is next for the G.I. Joe Brand. If you follow Hasbro the way we do, you would know that the focus is on emerging markets. Sales in the United States are expected to be flat for even the Transformers Brand. For the most part G.I. Joe is not a global brand that can be easily marketed to China.
With all the cost cutting going on you would think they would jump at a chance to use those Marvel Legends molds over and over again for G.I. Joe.

I can only see a few scenarios where I wouldn't. If it is ARAH based and has a variety of my favorite characters, then it would be hard for me to pass up. I love ARAH, 25th and modern era, KRE-O, and Sideshow because of their connections to the original.
If it was some new style, not ARAH based, It would have to be absolutely awesome designs to drag me in. It would also need to be affordable, with many good detailed paint applications, lots of appropriate/useful gear, and stands that would hold the figure securely. All weapons need to be able to be held by the appropriate figures without falling out of their hans if you breath on them.
at one point i didn't like the idea because they need to be smaller to fit in the vehicles, but now i think id appreciate a line where you don't need any vehicles because vehicles take up a lot of space.

Yep, but I might be picky... ESPECIALLY if Hasbro pulls the ol' cheap repaint/Frankenjoe trick like they did so often in the 25th line. I'm fine with it when the original figure was like that (e.g. much of the O13), but otherwise, no, especially for a "Premium" line.

I've vested too much money, time, space and relationship issues to go all out with a 6 inch line. If the philosophy is to hook in new age brackets then hopefully that plan works.....I don't see hardcore collectors jumping ship on 3 3/4 to a new line and build. I can live with the FSS figs and our rare figs. Even if Joes does go away I'm happy, I have just about everything produced since 2007, and that is a ton of stuff

I would support no doubt, just at that price point i dont want to see Tiger Force, Ninja Force etc...just iconic versions (yeah I know who would decide which version is iconic idk) but I mean like just original Duke, FLint etc, not Neon Flint, Jungle Blooper Duke etc...
Dr. Vile says
If it was treated like the Hall of Heroes, with only primary characters.
A 6 inch Firefly would rule!
