Achievement Chore: She Plays For Gamerscore, Whether It's Fun Or Not
If any of you know someone like this in real life, do the world a favor, hit them over the head, throw them in a sack, and get them some professional help whether they think they need it or not. Either that, or convince them to an hero themselves and rid the world of their wasted lives. |

I've been playing x-boxes forever.... I don't think I've ever looked for a gamerscore or even knew I had one.

I'd take a well balanced player on my team than one that has a high gamerscore or is 15th prestige. I don't need gold guns, just give me one M16 with woodland camo and you'll have a KDR well over 5% consistantly. To each his/her own though. Games are made for people to enjoy them, if that's how she enjoys it... good for her. IMO I just think she's an attention whore and her hubby is getting milked for all his hard work.

I thought this quote from the husband was sad: "With as much time as she has allotted for video games and the kid I can account for her whereabouts at any given moment so I'm certain that she isn't cheating on me"
really? he calls his daughter "the kid"? that just sounds wrong to me.... I don't get the point really, she's cheating on the sports game by playing people who are intentionally throwing games, so what's the point? I mean, did i miss a part in the article where she is winning cash and/or prizes? |

i dont understand all this fascination with those stupid acheivements. all the little kids love it, props to microsoft for making up such a stupid gimmick but it worked well enough now that even sony slapped this nonsense on the ps3 too. 99.5% of these games dont even unlock anything extra, if all these companies made them unlock something in the game i might be inclined to finish some of them but usually i dont give a shit.

Wow. I honestly don't have a problem with this story, but then again I did spend 113 hours getting all the trophies for FF13, so perhaps I am not the best judge. LOL.
But, honestly... if this story was about some dude instead of a girl... I would probably have a problem. LOL. Plus, the fact that she didn't physically let herself go and turn into a fatty coach potato... REALLY helps her cause IMO. LOL. The husband is so cool though... I'm pretty sure he realizes this is just a phase. The 200,000 gamer score kind of reminds me of George Clooney in the movie Up in the Air. His goal was like to reach the 1,000,000 frequent flyer mileage mark... or something like that. LOL. Good movie btw. From the article: She's gotten 1,000 gamerscore in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. She's gotten 1,000 gamerscore in 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand in Japanese. My god... that right there... is like... I bet even 50 Cent would be freaked out by that. LOL. From the article: One game, Clannad, was picked for its low-hanging fruit. It's a "visual novel," sometimes called a dating sim, but as the choices are all text-based the gameplay should be pretty easy, right? Okay... that right there is just pure awesomeness. Clannad is the sh**. LOL. If they released all those visual novel anime games here I would be all over them. LOL. I like Homer Simpson's answer to everything better; I remember when Lisa was like complaining to him or something, he just told her not to worry because they were just going to "Go live under the Sea" like in The Little Mermaid and then he sang the "Under the Sea" song like Sebastian does. LOL.
