I'm sure that this has been asked or discussed, but I'm stuck for time and can't do a proper search, why hasn't there been a JOE First person shooter or something along the lines of the Arkham games?

I know the exact answer to that question, but it's a really long story. It's a very good reason and you'll agree once I tell the story. But, since your stuck for time I won't go into it.

Because Joe is about characters, not an arm with a gun onscreen. Joe needs to be done in 3rd person. Characters like Snake Eyes need to be able to jump around, slicing multiple enemies with crazy ninja accuracy. 3rd person is fine for Battlefield and CoD but it would be terrible for Joe games.

lowlight, ambush, and ? - sniper class roadblock, repeator, and rock and roll - heavy machine gun class duke, beachhead, and stalker - standard assault riffle class bazooka, hardball, back blast, and fastdraw - rockets and explosives class snake eyes, hit and run, and lady jaye - silent weapons class (throwing knives, cross bows, silenced uzi maybe) flint, shipwreck, falcon, and muskrat - shotgun class you can probably do they same with a cobra class including cobra, dreadnoks, iron grenadiers, and maybe headman and his head hunters if there is a couple themed levels Last edited by wormser; 06-11-2012 at 06:37 PM.. |

you could even do extra downloadable content like extra characters, sub team colors, and maybe a "laser" class with like sci fi, flash, and deejay. maybe even a flamethrower class with bbq, charbroil, and blowtorche. many cobra characters come to mind with all the classes too but you get where im going with this

But all you're really changing is what others see. All the player sees is an arm with a gun. GI Joe is about the characters, which would obviously be best in 3rd person. Something like Metal Gear, Max Payne or Assassin's Creed would be great. You could do way more with the characters designs (using sub teams you could actually see the uniforms. For sample Night Force Outback wouldn't just be a black glove on an arm). But you could also have epic hand to hand battles. Slapping Cobra logos on enemies in CoD wouldn't make it a Joe game and that's basically what a 1st person shooter would turn out like.

and i think there would be enough of the theme of the characters present to where it would be more than just what the other players see

To me 1st person shooters are like playing racing games from the in car view. It shows the dash and steering wheel but nothing else. There's really no distinguishing between the cars. They don't have any personality. Same with shooters, arm and gun but nothing else. What distinguishes each character from the others?
