Well I finally finished the game on Sunday and I feel empty. I did all the side missions and I still got the "bad" ending. I was fully prepared for Shepard to die. I destroyed those fuckers just like I said I would. It came at a price but that's part of the game.
But like others have said, I had Liara and Garrus with me on my way to the Citadel. So how the hell did Liara end up on the Normandy and Garrus is no where to be found? How is Joker out running exploding relays out in space? What happened to all the aliens that were left on earth? Why didn't I see Kelly in my game at all, even though I got her to dance for me, and feed my fish? And where the hell are my fish? Why wasn't the importer working correctly, so that I could import my Shepard? These are just a few questions I have about this game. |

Well, just finished it. Only really problem I have with what I got, is that it needs to be expanded on. The little brat needs to explain exactly what the third option brings to the table, because out of the three - only one seems like sure victory, even then at a very high cost.
Now a thought about what might have been; Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a fourth option - one that allows organics and synthetics to find their own path, free of "control". Especially, considering that by the time you get there, it's entirely possibly that you've already proven the brat wrong. Hopefully, something like that will be DLC. Liara seems like she's going busy, as she appears to be the only female to survive. At least Joker and Javik got left with someone attractive, lol. It was odd, that he was fleeing - I don't think EDI would let him honestly. Wouldn't it be messed up if the whole thing was Shepard's "nightmare" before actually starting the mission?

The fandom has pulled together a good chunk of evidence that certainly makes it seem plausible that the theory COULD be true, but what's even more fascinating is that what would normally amount to a (pardon the expression) fanwank theory is actually gaining some media attention. It would certainly give Bioware an out if they chose to go in that direction. However, both creatively and from a business sense it opens up a whole new can of worms. If the collected rumors are true and there IS in fact a major DLC planned for April or May sometime that will provide the "true" ending (google "Mass Effect 3 The Truth" for details on that one) as well as a ton of multiplayer goodies, then it means that this was all planned before release, because Bioware couldn't make a major DLC like that in such a short time. Some of it would HAVE to have been being worked on pre-release. This also means that they did, in fact, sell us an incomplete game. While the "indoctrination" bit (if it turns out to be true) is a brilliant concept in terms of the overall narrative, the "real" ending should be part of the game. The RUMOR is that because of an early script leak, Bioware took this route because they knew the endings would quite possibly leak before launch day (and lo and behold, they did) due to PC data miners. So they kept the "real" ending(s) back as future DLC. I can see the mentality behind it, but I don't really agree. Now, again, RUMOR has it that this big ol' "true ending" DLC will actually be free and not paid DLC. This, to my mind, is the only way Bioware can come out of this a "winner." If they charge for it, then they truly have become as greedy and money-grubbing as some fans have been accusing them of ever since the whole "day one DLC" business (even if I still think the "outrage" over that was idiotic given that three of the last four major Bioware releases have had day one DLC). Either way, Bioware's definitely going to have to do SOMETHING, and do it very carefully, or they really do seem to risk going from one of the best-regarded studios in the business to "just another name for EA." |

Well, I can add a little extra credence to the rumor about April. Ray Mazuyka posted on the Bioware Blog today and mentions April as the time we'll hear more about what they're going to do regarding the ending. So take that for what you will.

Because of the ME3 community's overwhelming success during Operation: Goliath this weekend (Objective: Kill a combined 1 million brutes on silver or higher- we killed 3 million), a special "Victory Pack" has been issued to all players. It contained (for me) a resupply drop of Missiles, medigel and ammo packs, a weapon upgrade, and a new weapon (Disciple I).
