Shep needs to spin a top. Maybe he never woke up in that machine Legion put him in!
I thought the Reapers came out of the Mass Relays..atleast they did near the Batarian colony that got wiped out.. And damn did I hate Harbinger just being written out of the game..I wanted to kill that mother F***er. And Hackett never ordered a retreat, before you make a decision you can still see fighting in the background...their orders were to fight till the end! |

And about there being no post game DLC, there was an article on IGN about it a few months ago. Just google it!

There is an company memo or something that I think has at least 5 DLCs......it could be bullshit, but i think it may be accurate..
Omega weapons pack alt costumes romance pack weapon pack Shep in jungle And I think another Shep in jungle was the final DLC though...waiting for alliance to FTL to him or something...

Yes, Drew wanted it to be about Dark energy...which is why you go to haestrom in ME2.... Drew left ME and now TOR because of lack of creative control. They basically scrapped his ending, and the new end may be collaborative, but i think it is Mac's ending.
My relationship with ME3 is that ...really...I think it is one of the most beautiful love letters ever written, and then when I get to the last sentence I realized it is actually a break up note..... Anyone know if BioWare's issued a statement? It took them a few weeks after Deception dropped to issue an apology. And that was a novel. Seeing the backlash toward the game... Eek.

I really think the only real beef with the ending(s) is that there's no epilogue for your fellow characters and the galaxy as a whole. The choices themselves aren't bad, and in fact are pretty brilliant on the surface (opening the door for players to debate endlessly as to which is the "right" one). It's the execution that lacks. Even a couple infodump paragraphs/codex entries could have been cooked up to give at least an overview of what each decision really means for the galaxy as a whole. But even better SHOW why that's the case. That would probably solve a lot of the problems some folks have with choosing "Synthesis" over "Destruction" or "Control."
If that DLC list is right, then it sounds like there's almost certainly post-game DLC in the works. We'll see how it's executed and if they pull a "Broken Steel." As for the rest.... Omega: Probably a mission to help Aria retake Omega, since that plot thread was kinda left dangling. Aria as a squadmember? Weapons packs: Pretty self explanatory. Hopefully a few new items besides just the preorder/collector's edition bonuses (Spectre Assault Rifle, anyone?) Alternate Appearance Packs: Also self explanatory...also hopefully more than just the collector's edition stuff. Romance Pack: Noooooo clue on this one. While some of the romances are given a rather cursory finish (unless you romance Liara, Ash, Kaidan or one of the same-sex relationships), I don't really know what they could do to "beef that up" without significantly altering the main game (allowing Jack, Jacob, and Miranda as squadmates, for example). Shepard in Jungle: Seems like it would be the obvious, but...who knows? Ultimately it was like watching your favorite team in the best football game of all time, only to have them fumble the ball at the last second, on the one yard line, right before scoring the game-winning touchdown. Still love the game and the series, but yes, the ending leaves much to be desired. The journey though...is more than worth experiencing. Last edited by Jmacq1; 03-12-2012 at 09:02 PM.. |

Not really. The character of Shepard takes a 180 degree turn and just gives into this reaper god thing...WTF? That makes no sense...
You're telling me that the Shepard you role-played for 3 games would be willing to believe anything that little blue freak said? That's what i don't get....

It sort of does make sense, when you consider Shepard's state at that point in time- physically and mentally. He's exhausted in every sense of the word, he just got toasted by Harbinger (I still want to gut that son of a bitch), broke TIM's control, saw his mentor and best friend die, and the three-year long war that he's been fighting is taking its toll on him. He wants it to end. Even the toughest wall eventually crumbles.
It's not perfect or completely excusable, but it still makes sense. The fact that the game ends with Shepard broken enough to believe the Reaper god just makes Shepard human, he's not anything special. Any other human who was lucky enough could've been where he was. And is that realistic? Yes. In that one instant the game has realism. But that is why it's so jarring. Everything else is impossible and unbelievable. The believability of ME went out the window about five minutes into the mission to Eden Prime. Mass Effect has had so many obviously unbelievable things that when they decide to break that by making your unstoppable Sheppard break, it just breaks the series. What happens when you put Batman in a no win scenario? What happens when you put Captain Kirk in a no win scenario? What happens when you put Luke Skywalker in a no win scenario? The list goes on, but the answer is always this. They win. That's been true for Mass Effect. Until the last 10 minutes when Shepard stops being a sci-fi hero and becomes a real person. And that's why it fails. |

Alright, so I've officially finished the game once.
I'm still gathering my thoughts on how I really feel about the end. It truly wasn't "OH MY GOD THIS HAS RUINED THE SERIES FOREVER AND RETROACTIVELY DESTROYED ALL THE GOOD MEMORIES I HAVE OF THE SERIES AND FUCK YOU BIOWARE YOU HACKS!" terrible like it's been described by more than a few people all over the place. That's only because you had fair warning ahead of time. If it had been a complete surprise you'd be feeling like this guy: |

I'm on my second playthrough. For the next one I want peace between the Geth & Quarians & I want TIM to shoot himself in the head. Now I need to find out *EXACTLY* what needs to be done to get those two things. My first playthrough sucked.
I've thought it over & I like the synthesis ending. The cycle ends, all life is now a blend of organic & synthetic. So there won't be any more wars between organics & synthetics & no need for the Reapers anymore. That's the whole point of the Reapers, organics constantly create sythetics & the synthetics always turn on their creators. So the Reapers were created to stop the synthetics from wiping out all organic life in the galaxy. But with synthesis, there won't be any massive differences between sythnetics & organics anymore. That's the only one that really makes sense to me. But I still hate these things: 1. The mass relays didn't have to be destroyed. This could have easily been skipped/never mentioned. Just leave them alone, there's no reason to destroy them. There's no real need to even mention them. 2. Shepard didn't need to die. He could have made the decision & then went about his business. Then after the credits you could go talk to all your friends to see what their opinion is. Just like in ME2 they all told you if they agreed or disagreed with your decision about the collector base. 3. What happened with the collector base? That was the thing I wanted to see the most. That was the hardest decision in ME2 for me. Every time I played ME2 I was like "oh crap! Do I trust TIM or do I destroy it?".That's the thing I couldn't wait for the most. I was dying to get my hands on ME3 to see what would happen if I handed the collector base over to TIM. 4. What happened to the Batarians & Aria's mercs? There was no mention of them in the end. Balak said the Batarian fleet was mine. But I never heard anything about it again. 5. I was expecting the Rachni to be a part of the final assault. I played through the stage with the Rachni Queen, she said they were all turned into Reapers or some crap like that .That whole stage is a blurr to me. WTF happened exactly? She even looked like a Reaper, but they gave me the choice to feree her so I did. Then never heard anything about it again. I still don't have a clue what exactly happened.
