WTF?!? I was looking forward to getting a little time in between yardwork, going to the range, and working on customs. I hate you Bill Gates. It's been limping along here and there, not sure what's wrong with it. My drummer said it might have something to do with the fans, and that there's an easy fix online. A guy I worked with said it may have stopped picking up the disc. I've got 3 red bars out of 4, and sometimes it works for hours, sometimes it craps out. Any ideas, or help?
Edit: Oh yeah, sometimes before it completely craps out it gives me a "disc cannot be read" error. Even though there's nothing wrong with it.

You could try the towel trick, I used it on 2 of my 360's before I went to PS3. It fixed each of them for a couples of weeks but that was about it. Just gotta be real careful or your 360 could burst into flames.
As its no BS, it really worked. A buddy of mine tried it and it didn't work though. |

cool, if it gets to the point I can't play it at all I'm definitely using that. It was giving me a headache all morning. It's been running for about 20 minutes now. That's the weird thing. Sometimes I can play for an hour, then run Netflix for a movie or two, with no problem. Then other days, I can't even get a whole round of Search and Destroy in and it busts my balls til I want to chuck it out the window.

Sounds like you got RROD'ed (Red Ring of Death). Basically the heatsink in your 360 has had the solder points fail. 2 options, contact Microsoft (1-800-4-MY-XBOX, have your serial # handy, please do not towel it, it'll void any warrenty that you may still have on the system) or 2 Toss it out in the trash and buy a new slim 360, which can not Red ring on you (it'll auto-shut down it it's getting too hot).

That sucks bro. That was one of the reasons why I bought a PS3 instead.
My condolences |

well first off. I'm not suprised cuz 360's are trash. PS3 is the way too go.
2nd, try to upload the games to your hard drive to save the system. |

My PS3 conked out on me a week before Christmas break last year. It was brutal!
I didn't get it back until school had started again and all of my free time was gone. I had to hang out with my family and real-life friends--and talk to my wife about her day. It was horr-ri-ble. I hope your X-Box keeps working! |

I used to bash XBox's pretty heavy until my Blue Ray laser died a week after a software update, along with a boatload of other PS3's. I had to pay 150 bucks and lose my backwards compatability to get a new slim PS3 from Sony.
I'm pretty sure Sony knew something was up, and their $150 offer for a replacement slim ps3 with more hard drive space was just to get the original ps3's off the market and avoid a class action lawsuit. |
