Just picked this up last night and have been going through the controls and game modes since.
Havent played a MLB game since the original Xbox days and couldnt be happier with my purchase. If you're a baseball fan and sports game fan, this puppy does not disapoint! I'll put down my controller when PoC comes out. |

I agree; I got this game two weeks ago and it is pretty awesome. The graphics are jaw droppingly amazing when you use 1080p and hook it up to your computer monitor. Of course, the last baseball game I had was Triple Play 2001 for the PS2, so I am easily wowed. LOL.
My only gripe is the fielding is not as tight, nor arcadely as I would've liked. My all-time favorite baseball game was MLB 98 for the PS1 because that had the best fielding controls I ever played; you could dive for the ball and if the ball was anywhere near you it would catch it and you could turn double plays like crazy. So hard to turn a double play in MLB The Show 10 and that's my favorite thing to do in a baseball videogame. |

The Show is the best Baseball game ever. No game even comes close. The 2K games are an absolute joke compared to The Show.

My brother has been playing this game religiously since it came out, and played previous "The Show" incarnations just as religiously on his PS2 for a year or so prior, and the game is driving him nuts. He wins a couple of games, but says it's frustrating how anytime he has good timing and guesses the pitch location correctly, makes contact it's still an out. Very hard to manufacture hits and runs in the game. Almost everything seems to be a pop fly, whether to the infield or outfield. He has less of a problem with fielding and pitching, but when I watch him play it just amazes me how long it takes for the players to throw to the bag... it's not that he's slow or charging up the throw, it's that the priority seems to be given to the animation transitions from catching to throwing so that player holds onto the ball and gets himself set instead of throwing off balance. Also, I don't like how you seem to be unable to pick which player to use to field a ball. Balls go right past the infield sometimes because it gives you an outfielder to charge in on a dropping liner instead of making the 2nd basemen take a dive at it or jump for it.

I agree sometimes its really hard to get the infield to dive, but it isnt impossible.
Plus I've noticed sometimes stuff like that depends on the team..my 1st game I played Yankees and Phils...and the infield D was incredible. For the hell of it I then played Pirates and Nationals...and I swear it was luck of the draw. I think I had 3 hits all game and there was virtually NO "assist" with the fielding. It isnt perfect, but for what else is out there...if you're gonna shell out the 50-60 bux, I'd say this is a good buy for a MLB fan. |

I pitched a perfect game once in MLB 99 I think it was; I remember I was getting all nervous in the 8th and 9th innings and I even stopped playing so I could run my video game through my VCR so I could record it and show my brother afterward if I actually did it. LOL. I remember I was playing a season with the Braves and it was against the Rockies and at the end of the game it said I pitched a no-hitter (even though I had zero walks or errors and nobody reached first base).
