I'm sure every one has played the most current GI Joe video game by now. there's a lot of room for improvement. so let me ask you. how would you make a GI Joe game. what joes would be playable? who would your support staff be? what vehicles would be in it? what types of levels and gameplay would you like to see? I did like the class types in the last GI Joe game. Soldier, Heavy Weapons, and Commando; with four of each type. so my joes would be
Soldier: Flint, Beach Head, Duke, Stalker. Heavy Weapons: Roadblock, Gung Ho, Bazooka, Rock n' Roll Commando: Scarlett, SnakeEyes, Jynx, Shipwrek. My four Cobras would be Storm Shadow, Destro, Baroness, Zartan. I'd like a ultimate alliance type of game play with classic locations and various costumes.

I deff like the Ultimate Alliance idea, along with ROC game play. And vs matches. There are so many things they can not just improve on but add on to.
For a ROC part 2 or POC I would put in more characters and a lot more special missions - on both sides (Firefly, SS, SE, etc). It also needs more vehicle missions- flying, boats. The possiblities are always endless with video games. 1st |

From another thread awhile ago:
The perfect Joe game, for me, would never get made, it would involve way too many different aspects of other games. There would be free roaming, FPS, RTS and even the kitchen sink. There would be large scale invasion missons, the RTS portion. Say you have to invade Cobra Island or force Cobra out of Trucial Abysmia. You'd control a larger Joe force, mostly greenshirts, but with command by Joes (like Steeler in charge of the tanks, Capt. Grid-Iron in charge of the infantry). You'd be Hawk commanding the forces. The different Joes would give advice and rely intelligence. Then there would be side missions based off the RTS. A smaller Joe unit (like Stalker, Beachhead, SE, etc..) has to take out a power station on Cobra Island so the tanks can move in. That would be one type of mission. Then there would be the hostage/item rescue/recover type missions that would be alot of free roaming and FPS. Get inserted in with a small unit and have to work/fight/sneak your way to the target and then back to the extraction point. How you get there would be up to you, the free roaming part. Then there would be the driving mission (sea and land), where you have to chase down a cobra boat. Or a sea mission where you have to avoid the Cobra patrols and fight your way to Cobra's battleship where you then unload the infiltration team and it's a fight in the ship. Air missions to take out Cobra air support so the troops can move in. And obviously the missions would be mutil-faceted. You'd have to divide the team up sometimes and take out multiple targets. Smaller missions where it's just one or two Joes, larger squad missions with 12 Joes to have to command. No upgrading. You start and end with the same equipment but of course run out of ammo here and there and need to get more or can take a machine gun from a dead cobra soldier and use that. Timed missions where have to stop Firefly from blowing something up. Then there would have to be the obligatory SE/SS fighting mission. That would be my perfect Joe game and I doubt there will ever be something like it. Oh yeah, there would be the intelligence missions where you ahve to go and gather more intelligence, spy, etc.. Also my game would be very immersive and interactive. If you storm a building and have a shoot out on the first floor, the guards above will hear the noise and be waiting for you. And the enemy would have very active AI, they'd move and have their own set of tactics that they would utilize. So if you're in a firefight, you better watch out for some Cobra trying to sneak around behind you down some side hallways.

I'm torn between the Ultimate Alliance style and the Mercenaries/GTA sort of open play.
What I see as the downfall for the Ultimate Alliance style is that you are talking about alot of gun play. How dynamic could you really make it when you need to get some of the core characters in the mix. Snakeyes would be the easiest to translate into this format but there isn't going to be much of an on screen difference from Flint's shotgun to Stalkers machine gun. And it's not like the characters each have "special powers". Again, if they could make it work I would spend hours combining Joes and re-play the hell out of it. Mercenaries style might work for the overall feel and tone for the game. But then you are stuck with one character, and when you start switching through the various weapons that you can pick up you might lose the feel of the character you are playing. Now that I think about it a Medal of Honor style game might be ok - you can pick a Joe and run through the missions with your "team" of other joes. Great for multi-player. Just my thoughts. |

Classic RTS style. Command & Conquer was practically modeled after G.I. Joe, and the big battles from the Sunbow toon were always a major attraction for me, so I'd definitely want to go the real time strategy rout.
Play as either the Joes or COBRA, with a full arsenal of troops and vehicles from the classic RAH days. COBRA would have a range of troop types to pick from (Vipers, CGs, B.A.T.s) as would the Joes (Greenshirts, Steel Brigade Troops, Pit Commandos). Resources could even be inspired by the Sunbow show (the MASS Device elements for instance). |

Or for me take the original Rainbow Six and update - "tighten up" the graphics. I like the detail and planning of the original.
