I love Tropical Freeze but I kinda like the level count and variety of biomes in Returns more than Tropical. |

Thanks, think I'll go with Echoes and Paper Mario next. Been having tons of fun playing Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. I skipped on the Wii version due to waggle controls and the 3DS one for it's visuals and performance. I'm more hooked on Returns than Mario Wonder which I just don't have the urge to play and haven't beaten despite having it for over a year now.
I love Tropical Freeze but I kinda like the level count and variety of biomes in Returns more than Tropical. Had Returns back on the Wii, pretty fun (although I don't think they really recaptured the magic of the OT). I've been meaning to grab the HDR, but I've been ramping up my buying for Switch and reacquiring a select few SNES titles that are unlikely to see a rerelease, so it's kinda been getting pushed back in favor of other stuff. Did just get a copy of Tropical Freeze, though. Should be here this week, alogside the Xenoblade trilogy. Kinda with you on Wonder. It was a great game, and I gave it the obligatory 100% run through, but I have no desire to pick it back up. When it was coming out, everyone was like "they FINALLY got away from the 'New Super Mario Bros.' formula!", and I'm like, no they didn't, it's NSMB with added gimmicks and a different naming convention. I really think 2D Mario has already been fully explored- like 4 games ago. |

Solid choices, TTYD is one of those games that I can revisit over and over, and Echoes is pretty brilliant as well... although, I guess saying a Zelda game is good is akin to saying "I drink water" at this point.

I was playing some DKCRHD and Metroid Dread though and it got me thinking that Mercury Steam would be the perfect developer for a new Donkey Kong Country game if Retro can't anymore. If the Retro games didn't hit the sales mark Nintendo wanted it to then MercurySteam can change up the format to control individual characters again like the original trilogy and change things up. I'm curious to see what the Switch 2 launch lineup is gonna be. Obviously Mario Kart, which is a tough act to follow considering 8 has like 100 tracks with the dlc. -New Mario -New Animal Crossing? |

Just tried my PS2 for the first time in a few years and it is dead. From what I've read, the problem seems to be the power board. There are replacements on Amazon for about $20+. I may give that a try.

That's what happened to mine, yeah it's fairly common for the power supply board to die on the fat ones.

That reminds me. I still need to get a newer AV red/yellow/white jack plug in to get for my Gamecube since my Gamecube's old AV Jack cords have wires sticking out right at the base of the plugin right at the port of my Gamecube. Don't want to start a electrical fire or whatever.

I'm still enjoying Black Ops 6.
I'm also around 5 hours into Stalker 2. Great atmosphere but too many flaws. Overall I liked the old PC games more. I'll probably finish the story anyway though. |

How's the campaign, I'm a huge raven software fan so I really liked the campaign they did for Cold War.

In general there's a lot of variety in mission design: some stealth, some open world, linear cinematic action... Personally I haven't liked it; for me it lacks a direction, it has probably been developed by a ton of different studies. When it sticks to the old COD formula - linear levels, cinematic action - it's great as always, but those moments unfortunately are over quickly. Definitely worth a try though. |
