The race is between the PS4 and the Xbox One currently.

I think I'm just probably gonna get a Wii U when it become super cheap and when Zelda comes out.
Plus, there are still TONS of PS3 games I still haven't played yet... enough to last me years.

PS4 on the back half of its lifecycle. Unless they Microsoft us, then 8th generation consoles will be a no-go for me.

I'll get an xbox one but not until Halo 5 comes out. I'll wait to get the fancy snazzy Halo verison of the console.

Sticking with current gen as long as possible, then probably just going PC for my gaming. Nothing I've seen from the next gen wows me enough to rush out and buy any of them, and most of the games I'll want to play will probably come out on PC eventually.

Finally jumping ship (or back to Sony since ps2). Microsoft dicked us, man. I bought my Xbox for Morrowind, 360 for Oblivion and later Skyrim. And since Elder Scrolls is going to be on both, I'm switching.
I don't buy many games, so borrowing and renting is essential to me. I'm a Forza fan and Halo is my @#%#, but not for what it costs me to give up. Welcome back, Sony.

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop with Sony. They made a great spectacle of blasting XBox One for its' problems, but Sony has NEVER said that they won't permit game manufacturers to implement their own DRM measures on their games on the PS4.
So basically, I fully and completely expect that for all Sony's "You can totally play used games on our system without connecting to the internet!" hype, that in practice it's going to end up very similar if not virtually identical to XBox One, it's just that the DRM/Extra Fees/Connection Required will come from the game manufacturer/software side rather than being implemented directly by Sony themselves. Thus Sony can make it sound like their hands are clean and point at the manufacturers as the ones at fault when gamers complain. Because there's no way Microsoft is stupid enough to make that kind of move without knowing that Sony is going to be in a similar boat, whether it's from the manufacturer/developer end or built into the hardware itself. EDIT: And here we go - http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/11/p...s-third-party/ Yeah, I'm totally betting that for anything besides "first party" Sony games, it's going to be almost exactly the same as X-Box One, and they're just using technicalities to pull the wool over people's eyes. Remember, it's not Microsoft or Sony that stand to gain much with the restrictive DRM/killing the secondary game market - It's the game manufacturers/developers who are "losing money" on used game sales. I'm also betting the game manufacturers are willing to take the gamble that they'll gain enough sales from cutting off used games/"transfer fees" to offset whatever they'll lose in gamers so utterly irate that they stop buying video games altogether. And if developers want to stop losing money on titles, MAKE GOOD TITLES. because let's face it, I'm not paying retail for Madden 2011. Or any other dated sports title. When COD ghosts comes out, I wanna trade in my COD Black Ops toward it. It's my game and I should be able to do with it what I want.
