Apparently this game will be announced formally on February 27th. I am looking forward to this. I have not played Bloodlines or Liberation, but have played the other console ones EXCEPT for 3. I plan on buying 3 in the near future.
I loved Ezio's trilogy and both he and Altair are bad ass. The storyline for the games is awesome though each game tends to end with a big cliffhanger. The twists are pretty unpredictable too, which I like. Ubisoft has stated that they don't intend to make another trilogy for a character like they did for Ezio. They also stated that Connor's story is done. What I worry about is that apparently 4 will be helmed by an all new development team. |

I have yet to play an AC game. LOL. I thought for sure AC3 was gonna be the one... but then all the lackluster reviews changed my mind. I will definitely play AC4 if it is set in Japan though.

I played in a backwards order. Played Revelations, then 1, then II, then Brotherhood. The games progressively got better. I haven't played III yet, but so far, I like Brotherhood the best. There's so much to do in the Ezio trilogy. I really wish I played 1 before everything else, as I would probably enjoy Revelations a lot more. I admit, I kind of rushed into Revelations because 1 was on the same disc and I felt the urge to beat 1 just to know how the story started. While I got to know what Revelations was about through the course of beating it, I think I did a disservice to myself, the way I went about it. I would suggest playing each game prior to III, that's the only way to get the whole AC experience imo. Playing I, then II, then Brotherhood left me appreciating how the gameplay progressed with each release. |

Actually the only AC game I want to really play is the first one (despite its repetitive gameplay) solely because of the middle eastern setting, but I heard the PS3 version is a really bad port compared to the 360 version. Ubisoft didn't learn how to make good AC games for the PS3 until AC2... but I have almost no interest in running around a historic Italy/Europe. For me in games like AC setting is everything. |

Looks like the next AC game is gonna be about pirates: http://kotaku.com/assassin.s-creed/
Makes sense since they had the boating sections in AC3 and they probably wanted to explore that more and could do so without having to start from scratch. Last edited by MeLikeJinx; 02-26-2013 at 08:38 PM.. |

^ I love Pirate ships... that's why every time I go to TRU I linger in the Playmobil section and just look at all the Pirate stuff. LOL.
But I am just waiting for the AC franchise to go to ancient Japan... I mean you would think a game based on assassins would jump at the chance to be set in the land of ninjas and samurais. |

The Naval portions of AC3 were by far the best part of the game.
I just wish they'd dump the annoying "modern day"/animus crap altogether. |

Is the flashforward/modern day stuff still part of the game?
That annoyed me in AC1. Getting that "memory not filled" or whatever it was when got to the edge of the map took me out of the game.

The modern day stuff, until Ubisoft makes a game where you play an assassin instead of playing one living through an ancestors memories, might be better served via cutscene, since those segments in previous games didn't really add much. I liked finding the glyphs to complete the video clips/messages from "those who came before" in II/Brotherhood, and the subsequent puzzles but playing Desmond didn't add much. |
