Any hockey fans out there? There has to be a few puck heads out there and if you're not but still curious about the best game on earth then give the NHL 13 demo a try.
The NHL series itself has had allot of ups and downs over the last 20 years, some games very well done, some games not so much. This years version (or the demo anyway) seems to be a step in the right direction towards what us hardcore hockey fans would call a "simulation" of the sport. The skating physics alone has been given a huge upgrade and there are plenty of small tweaks which are quite noticeable during game play. For those wanting a comparison download any of the 07,08,09,10,11,12 demos as well and you can get an idea of the evolution of this game since the inception of the ps3/360. As for 13, if all goes well it has the makings of something special and should not be over looked by the casual hockey fan. It even has online General Manager leagues this year so maybe if there are enough we could get a Tanker league going! Give it a try boys and girls, its the best sport on the planet.

Anyways, I've owned every version of this series since it's beginning, and I always enjoy playing the game. I look forward to it's release. |

As for the series, I too have played/owned every game since NHLPA hockey and have really seen their ups and downs. The game got so bad both game play and graphic wise that "customs" communities popped up on the net with ways to customize the PC versions of the games from 95 on. You can add your own teams, Arenas, players, rosters and in the later versions equipment as well which made the game so much more fun and of course much like here, the people of those communities often did a better job then those from EA Sports. Hopefully there is more interest out there because an online league is loads of fun for all involved!
