just got it for my wife today. i really like all final fantasy games.. i got them all, from the 8 bit Nes FF to the present. thanks to a lot of work i could never finish the original FFXlll but my wife took over it and squeezed the game at maximum and i watched all the way.
any other FF fan out there?

Let me know how it turns out. From reviews I read, it seems like it has a lot of great things going for it but underused, and too much at the same time.
Aside from that, I read that it's way better than XIII. |

I platinumed FF13 twice... so I am down with 13-2. However I was shocked to hear you can defeat this game in around 20 hours. I'll probably wait and pick it up used since it is such a short game and people will finish it up relatively quick and trade it in.

I've played every FF since the NES days...but XIII was the first one I didn't finish. Absolutely gorgeous game, but the characters simply didn't grab my attention. If I don't care about the characters, I ain't gonna waist hundreds of hours wading through all that oh-so-Japanese philosophical melodramatic mumbo-jumbo to race for a conclusion that probably won't be terribly satisfying anyway.
In short, I don't really care to play FF XIII-2: Hope Hits Puberty. |

It's more of a traditional FF game than XIII was. At least so far. You have more exploration options, more combat options, more of just about everything. Yes the main quest is around 20 hours, but the game (from what I've heard) is full of side quests and monster stuff. Shit, Skyrim was a 15 hour game if you played just the main quest.
I loathed FFXIII with a passion, it's one of the few games I have ever stopped after 20 hours and said "this shit sucks". I played the XIII-2 demo and was liking it, add some trade and a gift card and I paid 30$ for mine, so I'm happy with it.

I was disappointed by XIII's extremely linear nature, so I guess I'm a little soured by it. I won't be buying XIII-2. MAYBE at some point, but hell - I still haven't finished Zelda: Skyward Sword and Skyrim is next.
Besides, the last "-2" FF game I bought SUCKED! Yeah you, FF X-2! |

10-2 was ok for me. I liked 12, but I never finished it. Too much to do and I never had the time.
