The rumor is that it will be set in Los Angeles.
But while I was looking around for some info I was stunned by all the comments of people that said they didn't like GTA 4. They kept saying stuff like GTA III and San Andreas was better and that IV was too realistic and not as fun as the Saints Row franchise. GTA 4 was actually the first GTA game I played for more than ten minutes, so I don't really know how good the previous games were in comparison. Quote:
GTA4 is the one I played the least, I prefered the older ones as sometimes (ok, most times) I'd rather kick back and wreck the place rather than run the missions. I'd complete the games, but played far more often just stealing cars and doing long police chases... crashing planes... driving tanks over hookers. GTA4 Sandbox mode was ok, but it's not the same as just jumping off from your save file in San Andreas or GTA3 to cause some mindless mayhem.

GTA 4 was very realistic, streamlined, and polished compared to the other games, but it lacked the mindless fun of just being able to do rampages, and going buck wild. I think this is why Saints Row has got such a solid fan base. GTA games were games you would look forward to, because you were going to do some wild shit. With GTA 4, I really was gonna ride or die with Nico as I had done with the others, but the atmosphere of the game felt way more serious. I think GTA 4 storyline went a bit too realistic. |

*ahem* *drum roll* Damn... most of that stuff looks like in-game engine stuff too. It is amazing how gorgeous the city looks compared to GTA 4's Liberty City and I thought Liberty City was pretty damn nice looking when I first played it.

I liked the realism... it really added to the story and kept me wanting to play the main campaign and not mess around in the city.

Don't get me wrong I liked the game a lot too. I had no problem with it at all, but after thinking about it. I just think some of those people had a point.

Could Tommy Vercetti be back?
Could CJ be back as well? Are we finally going to get to play as multiple players throughout the game? These are just some of the questions I have from seeing the trailer. The game looks like another great offering by Rockstar. |

i want planes, the ability to make your guy fat, skinny or buffed, rampages, the ability to buy multiple properties(like vc,sa);6 star army, more indoor locations and pretty much everything else all the previous games had.
i remember back in san andreas i had a hot date.so i did what anybody else would do,show off and pick her up in my stolen helicopter.so i grab me a parachute and while a few thousand feet in the air i decided to go skydiving.sadly i forgot to give her a chute. words on the screen said,"you bailed on your date." ah,those were the good ol' days.

I hope they also reign in the multiplayer this time. GTA4 was always waaaay too big of a map to play on very well. Especially if you went for the classic team a vs team b killing games. Or you and you friends pop into the sandbox to chat and kick back.. except everyone is across the board on where they started.
