I picked up the PTE AH-6 helicopter before Christmas but haven't done much with it because it's a combination of too big and too small. It dwarfs the Dragonhawk, yet 25th+ GI Joes just don't seem to have enough legroom to fit in the cockpit very well, although they seem to have more than enough headroom.
I've been looking at Toys R Us online and I see they also have a similar helicopter. From what I can see in the pics it appears to be smaller overall with a shorter tail and rotor, but the cockpit looks to be more Joe-scale. Does anyone have both to compare? Or if you just have the True Heroes version how well do your modern figures fit? |

The 25th figures can be tricky to get in there, but I managed to pull it off a month ago or so, I can post pics if needed. If you are referring to the True Heroes Copter for comparison, I saw it today and it's a lot smaller overall, I doubt a 25th Joe can fit in there. Aside from that, the PTE version is not only $5 cheaper but much bigger and comes with a lot of stuff.

a pic or 2 wouldn't hurt. I can get some figures in there as long as they aren't too diaper crotched. Resolute Duke and Air Raid seem to do pretty well....but that body seems to be one that fits just about anywhere well. and yeah the True Heroes bird was the one I had in mind for comparison. It just looks to have a more rounded cockpit ball but I haven't had a chance to look at one in person to see how it would do. I do have the PTE version.

Good ol Snake Eyes almost always fits in places other figures can't since he's leaner and shorter than other figures.

forgot about SE...the version that came with the Arishakage cycle is closer to the size of the O-ring figures so yeah he fits pretty well. Pit Commando does too after I removed the "skirt" part of his ACU blouse. A Pit Commando head on a Slipstream or Ace (the green one) body also makes for a great Lazy Custom to add to your pilot ranks. You can either steal Wild Bill's helmet and hat for him or use the black helmet the PC comes with.
