simply put yes they do. It's a shame too. Unless Hasbro takes over the DC toys I don't expect them to get much better. Mattel does a great job on the larger scale but the small scale they just can't seem to get right.

As a longtime comics fan and fan of DC, these figures are terrible! Some of the newer releases look a bit better with new proportion, articulation and paint jobs, but I've yet to find any. The Marvel figures are not perfect, but miles ahead of even the newer DC figures.

First releases suffer from a great many problems. The hands are way out of proportion and often the mass makes them look like they suffer from drawfism.
The later figures are a leap ahead in the right direction, I honestly believe if mattel had started with those figures the line would have lasted much longer, the newer figures due out this year look like one step up from those. |

I don't know. That "great leap forward" lead to brittle bones disease. A lot of figures lost their forearms and lower legs as they were removed from the packaging. Those knee and elbow joints snap like toothpicks.

I thought the latest articulation was a step in the right direction, but I've had 2 figures (Martian Manhunter and newer Black Adam) break right out of the package while trying to bend arms or knees. I have a ton of the DCIH (if I saw a figure at retail, I picked it up) only because I really wanted the DC characters--the figures themselves are usually pretty terrible. The Deathstroke is the high-water mark for the line. I'm hoping beyond hope that the new GL line will lead to respectable DC 4 inch scaled figures. |

What does shipping have to do with weak joint design? |

From what I've read, it seems most of the figures breaking are those Public Enemy 3-packs, while single issues like Deathstroke and Martian Manhunter rarely break.
