So, I just bought a new WolfHound (Snow Cat re-issue). It is a solid, heavy, sturdy toy. Now I ask myself, "how did I ever kill my SnowCat so quikly as a kid?". I was wondering if any of you have purchased a toy, vintage or re-issue as an adult, only to wonder how you destroyed it as a child.

Moving day claimed a lot of my bigger Joe toys. I guess poor packaging and an hour of bumpy roads will do that...

For me, it wasn't so much ME breaking my toys as it was my best friend Josh breaking HIS. My family wasn't as well off as his and so it always pissed me off to see him being so destructive. I was always pretty careful with my toys, especially around him. Now, the bush next to our front porch (mangled by pruning sheers) and the picnic table in the backyard (don't know WHAT the hell happened there) weren't so lucky. They were both claimed by his pre-pubescent anger.

I always took care of my Joes. Though my dog chewed up Gung Ho's left arm back in '86, all I did was give him SGT.Slaughters arms and it was a great improvement.
Honestly the only broken Joes I've had were figures from 2002-2004 and GIJCC exclusive because f**king o-rings keep breaking. I swear there must be something in the air besides smog that had I to change o-rings every 3-4 months on these figures. Thank God for the 25th line, all those figures were thrown in to a box and have been replaced by the 25th in my display case. |
