If I told you half the things I've heard about this Jabba the Hutt you'd probably short circuit.

Has Hasbro just given up on distributing TVC in stores? I have two Walmarts and two Targets in my area and nothing. The only wave I have seen in over six months was the Walmart Wicket wave, and that was one case in one Walmart. I know that distribution for all toys are bad, but I have seen Black Series and Marvel Legends most recent waves in stores. Jazwares is able to get its 4" Fortnite figures into stores, I just bought the most recent releases yesterday. I have have pre-ordered TVC online now because that is the only way to get it, but that is not as much fun as finding it in the stores.

It's not the toy industry as much as the retail industry. Retail goals aren't the same as collector goals. Collectors want one of each and sometimes multiples. Retail wants to meet a sales quota of one figure per peg per week. Retail stocks the pegs with the idea that inventory will last 8-12 weeks. If a collector buys 6 of the figures, then great retail just got 6 weeks of sales. The system, both toy and retail industries, aren't agile enough to compensate for one customer to complete a full sell thru.

I’ve seen the Han Solo Endor release wave and the ERG wave very recently. They might be the same wave, though. And a lone Greef Karga. So, maybe things are picking up as they devote more to the line?

Amazon had a clone four pack up for pre-order for like less than a minute before it sold out (slightly hyperbolic, but close enough) (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T6M7G2P...v_ov_lig_dp_it). This offering was completely unannounced. Maybe Amazon put the listing up too early and it "sold out" because Amazon took it down. One can hope. But I am still frustrated in general with Hasbro because they make it so hard to buy their figures. Like I said earlier, I have not seen TVC in stores in months. GI Joe Retro Collection, never seen one ever other than the vehicles.
Why Hasbro, why? Why do you need to make this hobby so difficult? I love 4" action figures. I do this hobby with my kids to connect with them and show them my passion. I will happily give you the money Hasbro. I love clones. I cannot resist them. They are the sirens of action figures. I just want to go down to the basement with my boys, talk about Star Wars, and place figures on shelves. Is that too much to ask? But no, you make it hard for me to just give you the money. Hobbies are for relaxing, not for fervent hunts where you miss the small window of opportunity because you are working to make the money to participate in the hobby. Everything is ruined now by politics or health related virtue signaling. I just want one thing that isn't a frustration. ONE F'ING THING!!! Rant over. |

Completely unannounced. I didn't see it mentioned until 2:00 pm, and of course it was long gone by then. I read on a different site that it was live for a total of 11 minutes, from 1:04-1:15, something like that. The fact it was unannounced is especially ridiculous considering they had a star wars reveal event just a few days ago, what the hell? BUT, amazon listings go in and out of stock continuously, quite often. Keep an eye on the listing, you'll likely get another chance. (Also, those sculpts aren't particularly great, IMO). Let's just be thankful that this wasn't the ACTUAL bad batch.
