I don?t think a couple extra POA is tipping that scale. Collectors aren?t backing off of TVC, even if SW Epic rises to the quality of Marvel Epic. Could even supplement TVC. As it stands, they absolutely are competing for shelf space, and TVC appears to already be losing. There are characters that would never be part of Epic, anyway.

I'm not saying it's setting a standard; just a precedent that others (including Hasbro) eventually followed. And companies were using the T-crotch format before and after BBi/Unimax did (see Star Wars itself).

The fact 18th scale is broken between 3.75" and 4" is wholly and entirely the sole responsibility of Hasbro from when they created the 25A line by doing nothing more than taking the 3.75 RAH height proportions and completely fucking them up by simply adding in a second knee hinge instead of re-scaling the figures from the ground up. That decision has been the soil from which every single subsequent 18th figure in existence is one of two heights.

The point I'm trying to make is they could either do the same articulation for star wars they have for marvel at the same price point and still sell tvc figures. Epic figures arent super articulated and their sculpts arent as detailed as tvc. Kids could more likely afford epic figures. Hell they seem sturdier for rough play too. There's no objective reason why epic star wars is 5poa and epic marvel has more for the same price. Last edited by THEDARKONE508; Today at 08:27 PM.. |
