I'm not looking for a quarrel, or trying to single you out, I'm more confused by this. Hasn't there been several Mandalorian characters in TVC? Doesn't the current wave have some more from that show?

They've skipped around and had a decent selection of characters from Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, and Andor. However, there are still quite a few major characters that got skipped over in favor of more Stormtroopers or random alien army builders.

Peli motto? Man. I need her to give everyone a hard time while they park their ship for repairs.
When I was a kid getting a good guy in s bad guy disguise was the coolest and rarest thing ever. Now, it's because hasbro is too lazy to even bother making a character. Migs is the perfect example of that. And im sick of black series getting everyone without plans for tvc. There's no reason why star wars 4" line shouldn't be e the flagship star wars line. It was Kenner's bread and butter, 4" lines were hasbro's bread and butter. Black series at the very least should be the second thought. Last edited by THEDARKONE508; 02-13-2023 at 09:39 AM.. |

What's worse about the Clones and troopers is that they are tooling new ones just so they can repack and repaint them, so what little new tooling budget this line clearly has is being wasted on more bullshit. Which is also why I hate pedantic collectors who want 30 versions of the same characters based on the most minor details. One of the principle reasons I didn't ever wade into Black Series was that I didn't want to rebuild the roster of Star Wars characters I had accrued at 3.75. I can't believe the shit they've gotten- Jaina Solo, two different Revans, Bastila Shan, Malgus incoming- they're catching up quicker than I thought with characters I thought would never be made in Black Series. So much new tooling, as well. Another reason I don't believe that these budgets don't have any crossover.

no kidding, in anticipation for hasbro to make the grand inquisitor, i chased down tion medon just to swap out the inevitable fat head he was going to have to reflect the show's fat head makeup.
so not only did they blow it on the show- they blew it not making the figure at all; and im stuck with a figure/cast i dont even actually need, rounding it off to a third blew it. but let's have another LUKE SKYWALKER IN HIS RETURN OF THE JEDI, JEDI OUTFIT but on a mandalorian card, and someone be confused why that's a problem; and not "why arent they releasing more show centric characters on these shows? why havent they released rebels ghost crew in tvc? they make such a big deal about making darth vader so accurate to a new hope in rogue one and obiwan for the shows, why do they need to release a new figure every time? why not just get it right and then release someone else after that? why do we have to pay more for boba fett?" All those are rhetorical questions, I'm guessing that's where the money is, although that particular segment for Hasbro has steadily been going downhill. What has changed since those awesome GI Joe 4" waves, Pursuit of Cobra/30th Anniversary/Retaliation happened to GI Joe fans? To THEDARKONE508's point what happened to Kenner being the bread and butter 4" lines for Hasbro? Would love to hear your input? |

The worst thing about Mando Luke is that the figure is so much reuse. Check the Yakface review - even they are kinda pissed about it.
TBS really irks me when I see us getting that old ass Starkiller for TVC, and TBS got what in the past few years - HTTE Luke, Thrawn, Karnor Jax, Revan, Bastilla Shan, Jaina Solo, Mara Jade, Malgus, Nihilus, and various kitbashes like the Republic Commandos. Such a joke. |

I totally agree with that. I'm a 4" modern figure collector so I maybe somewhat biased, but for the life of me I don't understand why and how it's been established and has frankly become the norm for 6" figures - 1:12 toy lines (Marvel Legends, GI Joe classified, Star Wars black series and more) to be the only widely accessible, well publicized, strategically funded and the ones constantly pumping out all awesome characters as a result, popular or not so that collectors of that line can get excited, talk about new releases and buy the line for them or their kids without having to chase or hunt down product on the secondary market for inflated prices.
So from a profit standpoint, it makes sense for companies to force 6" figures as the norm. We saw this with Marvel Universe - Hasbro just flat out ended it and went back to 6" completely and you either adapt or die. Back in the day, you had all different scales of figures. 3.75, for as much as many love it, has really only been hanging on because of Star Wars for decades. 3.75 otherwise hasn't been big since what - the late 80s with Joe? Even the revival of Joe in the late 90s didn't move much of a needle - people moved on to the 5" scale that was mostly prevalent in the big lines of DC and Marvel. And of course once stuff like Spider-Man 1 came around, we saw Marvel figures jump to 6" and not look back. |
