Weird pricing, older figures are priced at $16.99 whereas new in stock releases remain at $14.99?? Can anyone explain that move?

They probably are basing it on what sells the best at Pulse? Like Reva is a pegwarmer in stores but maybe she sells good on the site like I'm sure Dark Times Vader does?

I think Pulse's model is to sit on stuff and pick up sales after items have sold out elsewhere. If ebay resellers are selling something for $20-25 plus shipping, that $18 at Pulse suddenly looks more attractive.

I've noticed the big 3 online retailers--Amazon, Walmart and Target--dialing back clearancing in some way. Sometimes it's shortening the timespan something is offered at a discount (like maybe once something sells down to a set quantity, the discount ends), sometimes it's shipping the clearance items to B&M stores and removing them from the website (Target seems to do this), and sometimes it's selling stock to a 3rd-party seller but fulfilling the orders for that seller (Walmart and Amazon...Walmart just did this with ME "retro" Grunt, for example, and I'm sure I've noticed it happen other times). Amazon & Target.com seem to use periodic sales/offers more than clearancing/steep price slashing now. I think they've caught on to the way items will rebound in price on the secondary market after they've been clearanced.

Target has clearanced out three waves of exclusives and yet Landos of all flavors continue to rot. |

The model of steeply slashing prices just to clear out product appears to be dead. I've noticed only Target still has good clearance prices in the stores themselves. Walmart's "clearance" prices have been a joke for awhile now. Think about GI Joe ME Retro on Walmart.com. They cut the prices down to $10 or so around the holidays in 2021 and haven't discounted them since. I think the last time I saw Walmart really clearance toys in stores was back in 2020-2021 with that ME Retro line and the early MOTU Origins waves.

The Hasbro Pulse thing is hilarous to me.
If I didn't pay the Pulse prem subscription for the 4 packs from last year, I wouldn't even be looking It's 7-9 bucks for standard Hasbro Pulse shipping there's Hell no reason to increase Reva's and Darth Vader's price except to target people who bought Hasbro Pulse premium shipping. But we're kinda the people least likely to buy them once they increase the price, so what's the point lol? If the Black Friday sales are not Clearance level next year and Vintage collection has no more good 4 packs, I might just let it expire. |

My Target clearances a ton of stuff. It's been a clearance gold mine the past few years. Walmart has been real hit or miss. Some locations clearance a bunch of toys, some not at all.
As for the no pre-order thing. You don't think it's because they've seen a massive decline in the amount of stuff getting pre-ordered, due to the price increases? Is it a bad look when none of the standard line pre-orders sell out?

I presume they jacked up Vader because he sells. Reva? perhaps they know something we don't about that rumored D+ redeemed Reva show we're supposed to get, or she'll appear in Mando or Ahsoka or something?

At least that's what it seems like.
