For example, if the packaging showed buying the whole wave completed the BAF, but in reality you wound up with six right legs that would be a scam or fraudulent. The customer isn't so easily duped into thinking the BAF parts are a cost free addition. Each person can decide for themselves if the BAF is worth picking up the whole wave or not. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy the whole wave. I've seen ML BAFs sell for $150 on ebay when the whole wave might cost $120. The only "trick" might be when a character is released as both a BAF and as a single carded figure like ML King Pin and DC King Shark were. Fortunately they at least had different paint schemes to differentiate the releases.

Yes. you are correct. It isn't a scam but rather a clever marketing ploy to make you think that you're getting a deal and/or think that the price increase is justified because you're getting 1/5th of a figure extra.

Well, my previous post was in response to someone saying that they'd be ok with paying extra if it were to have a BAF piece. All I'm saying is be careful what you ask for - personally, having a BAF piece doesn't justify a price increase as it probably will end up even costing more to get what you really want. Just say no to BAFs

I hate buying a whole set of figures to get one i actually want. I cant even remember who came with the galactus and sentinel marvel legends baf parts.

And i hate the fact that to get all kf groot from the first guardians of the galaxy movie was to get a stupid ironman. I hate ironman.

I don't want to pay any more for star wars figures. At this point they need to include a baf part to justify the price now. The paint app excuse is almost 10 years old and we're close to 6"prices for a 4" standard figure.

I love the Marvel Legends build a figures. I have gotten entire waves of Marvel Legends figures, essentially free, by selling off the BAFs I didn't want.

Was in Florida over the weekend. A crapton of Migs Target exclusives. One Target had 40 of the red armband one and another had like 40 of the no armband one.

I wonder how much of the mistake one was made before they corrected it?

I have to admit, I'm still pissed they didn't bother to give Kiska simple boots and not Bo's armored shin guard boots in either line.

Was this THAT hard, especially since no other female Mandos but Bo has those boots? Now when making an army of Night Owls they all look wrong. Not to mention they're all SHORT since they made Bo-Katan the size of modern era Leias.

That seems like a perfectly reasonable statement from someone who enjoys the BAF aspect and probably really enjoys the general wave assortments. I think it really depends on the BAF. Droids don't do much for me, but I love the more absurd comic characters like the Armadillo or the Angry Leprechaun. It's a great way to get oversized characters who would never see an individual release. Getting normal sized or smaller figures as BAFs has always been disappointing.
