psst. they aint too smart.
the trick is to keep it so they cant have one. and if they do get one, they pay way more than what it's worth, and will be worth when all the heat goes away. like the rebel flag v2 cross country that everyone went apeshit about a few years back. I don’t quite see how charging more for an action figure on the secondary market is a little guy sticking it to a corporation.
Hasbro already made the money from the retail location that sold the little guy the figure. The only ones that are getting the short end of the stick are people who didn’t buy the figure before prices skyrocketed. If anything, by getting rid of the character and no longer making the action figure, the corporation helped the little guy by putting more money in the secondary sales persons pocket. I’m not trying to argue, just trying to see the correlation. I can't speak for anyone else of course, but for myself it isn't about selling the figure that we've already paid for but the implication that once the existing collection is dumped, we won't be buying any more. Just my two cents. I agree completely with your post. Selling a figure that you've already bought, doesn't in an of itself, do a thing. I wont be buying any more though. I'll also have a Razorcrest up for sale when it arrives. I'd like it to go to one of you, preferably with children to enjoy it.

There has to be some way for Disney to restructure merchandise royalties so that fans don't get stuck in the middle. Maybe put the vague likeness stuff like Funko Pop! and retro style figures in a different category than Black Series and Hot Toys? Maybe just make royalties a completely different contract than employment? You can fire somebody but still pay them for a contribution they already made I should know I'm literally still doing that.

I thought the same thing. How the heck is a figure from last year that is suddenly selling for more on the secondary market, "little folks standing up to vile corporate giants"?? Disney/Hasbro already made their money on these. People are just panic buying them now.
If it’s more in line with Cross Country and you aren’t buying more, then the narrative works (if you can get enough people to stop buying them). Not like that’s a problem currently, I can’t find TVC anywhere. |

I wont take a penny more than what I paid either (+shipping of course). My collection is all MoC as well. I have shipping boxes similar to what the club used for their FS shipments (no taping figure boxes together I promise, lol). I just pulled my TVC stuff out of the bin in the basement. I just need to get the 5 PoA Rogue One figures out as well and make sure I have enough shipping supplies to get them out in a timely fashion. Then I'll post a list here if that's cool, as opposed to the BST thread. I'm happy to hook you all up as I can.

On a thread related note, that new Boba can't get here soon enough. That's the base to do a custom Mando Boba on
