I love this show, (as I've said countless times) I have just about every toy, the comics were cool, but the show, now that's the gold to this treasure, JMS really is one fantastic writer, his storytelling is what made this show a hit, the whole story centered around the last of humanity fighting for survival against lord dredd and his bio-dredd empire, but even better was the fact that the show was completly interactive, the toys had triggers that could fire at key moments as the show was on the air, and even better the light pulses generated by the tv allowed the show to "fire" back at your toys, andyour toy (be it the interlocker, the powerjet xt-7 or any of the other toys with triggers reached zero) your figure would eject from the cockpit or seat of the toy) this also worked against your other toys when the show was off. but like all good ideas some liberal idiot said "we don't like toys that encourage our kids to shoot at each other" Parent company mattel got upset at writers during the finale because it's largest toy (the powerbase) was destroyed, For Shame Mattel for not seeing the big picture! I for one would love L.A. to make a big budget movie and bring back Captain Power and The Soldiers of The Future!

I also love Captain Power and Soldiers of the Future. I bought the CDs of the show years ago from captainpower.com (I think it was known as Eden II back then). I have most of the figures MOC. I used to have the vehicles growing up too.

oh man... YES!!!!
this was a pretty big deal when i was a kid. i loved the show, had the toys... even GI Joe took a backseat to this for a while! you say you got CD's from the website? like.. music CD's? i was still rockin tapes back then! or was a it a fansite with the episodes on a "backup disc"? i even had some of the stand-alone animated features (i think one came with the jet? and you could buy more seperate adventures?) i cant remember what happened... but i either broke my capt. power figure (jason was his first name IIRC?), or lost him. and the rest of my crew had to go it alone and fight without him. whenever i played it usually went something like "where's jason? is he back from leave? was he KIA?" and the search mission started haha man that was a cool show and a good break from joes, just to catch my breath. btw, did anyone think the girl was hot? haha i had a crush on her, and i was only like eight or nine! hahaha

yes this was a cool show (I still have a few of the figures and the VHS trainig tapes)
I really wish they would release this ob DVD. I saw a few people selling bootlegs of this show at the Last Wizardworld, but the Feds put a kibosh to that. |
