I was going trough some old stuff in the garage and found a weird looking belt, that i had in a box marked with my name.along with some old comics and mirco machine cars, called up my dad and described it to him.he reminded me it was from the photon lazer tag.that got me thinking about when i was younger me and my friends would have arguments about witch lazer tag was better. I always prefferd photon because the helmet "i thought were cool back then.
My question to you guys is do you remember one more than the other, and witch one do you think would hold up today Last edited by jpnX; 09-25-2010 at 12:55 PM.. |

Had them both. Functionally, the Photon sets worked better. The guns had a longer range and were more accurate. The whole sensor/chestpiece/attached gun was a little more awkward, though. Aesthetically, the Lazer Tag guns are still quite sleek, and I did like the red dot sight that they had. My main gripe with Lazer Tag is that the really useful stuff - the vest and the hat - had to be purchased separately.

I remember my local KayBee had like an obscene Lazer Tag sale in which everything was 75% off or something like that. I went crazy that day and spent all my money on a whole bunch of Lazer Tag crap including helmets and rifles and vests and stuff.
When my cousin come over to play with all the stuff I just bought I was expecting great things! LOL. But damn, that rifle was useless, and when we played all we did was bum rush each other trying to shoot each other point blank while covering our chest targets with out hands so we wouldn't get shot ourselves. LOL.

I remember Laser Tag was the more well known name and Photon was like the knock off. I never really got to play them back in the day as no one I knew actually had any of them.
Somehow I wound up with a photon gun. I don't think it ever worked, but it looked cool. Last year or so I found two sets of Laser Tag (Gun, Chest Sensor and Belt) still in the box at Goodwill. I took them to the toy show to sell for $10 each. I also had a spare gun for $5. There was another seller there with a Photon set in the box for like $25-$35.....As far as I know, we both still have them I though about dropping some batteries into them and playing there at the toy show.....maybe I'll do that this year |

Photon looked better, but no one I knew could afford it.
I had a cheaper version called Laser Combat Panosh Place Laser Combat It was cool because it came with a target robot, so you didn't need other people who had the $ for this stuff. I found out it didn't work with Laser tag very well. (It was supposed to) So eventually I traded it in for a Laser Tag. Got a few games in but a lot of people didn't have Laser Tag either. |
