i've been seeing rumors that the marvel select watcher re-release is getting into people's hands.
i had to order mine from a store in south flawduh and hope for the best. until i saw today that amazon tossed a few up for 29.99. if you're lucky there's still some there - but amazon has to be the seller to get that price. so im getting 2 watchers. after having no watchers. |

Last Marvel Legend I got was Retro Carded Armored Spider-Man. He looks too good in the box I don't really want to take him out. I had Mr. Knight on pre-order but I canceled him cause I'd rather have two Classified Crimson Guards instead. Doesn't help that I HATED the Moon Knight series on Disney Plus. I mean don't get me wrong, it started off strong then it just went to cringe. I should of known better that Disney couldn't handle a character like Moon Knight proper. I'm hoping somewhere down along the road we get a more comic accurate Mister Knight as opposed to Scared Steven. Also got the Japanese Spider-Man on pre-order and I ain't giving him up for nobody.

When first seeing rumors of Japanese Spider-Man, I wanted it, but looks a bit weird. The head shape and body and web lines. Doesn't look like I can just swap the head and make a normal comic Spidey.

I've never been a Marvel Legends collector but I did get some Toybiz Legends recently, I actually like the look and style of a lot of these older figures. For instance, I noticed many people dislike the "gorilla arms" on Toybiz Juggernaut, but I like his exaggerated proportions, makes him look otherworldly and monstrous. Even if it's not quite accurate to his media portrayals, which I'm not super familiar with anyway.
I kind of feel the same about 2003 Beast. I'm interested in the history and development of action figures, and I didn't even realize these 2002 Toybiz figures were kind of the progenitors to the standard high-articulation figures of today. It was earlier than I had thought. I need to pick up a few modern Legends, just to compare, and see how the plastic feels, how the joints move, etc.

I liked the fact the old Toybiz Marvel Legends had comic books packed with them. Even if they were just re-prints, it was a nice little bonus to be had. Usually the issues had to do with the figure they came with. USUALLY. I say that because the Toybiz Man-Thing came with an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man where he was like featured in two pages just to use his burning touch on the Lizard and then he was gone. In my opinion he should of came with a re-print of his first appearance. At least that would of made more sense than an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man. Still figures like Blackheart, Hulk Buster Iron Man, and Green Goblin came with more appropriate issues like "Hearts of Darkness", First appearance of the Hulk Buster, and the aftermath of the death of Gwen Stacy respectably.

So many of the old Toybiz figures were weird looking. The face and body.
