I plan to do the same on a Friday/payday.
My SDCC stuff hasn’t shipped yet, but I did line up early at Target on Sunday to get the Storm pack. Man, they have got to do Banshee now (and a Rachel). Why did you hate AoA? That drew me back in after a hiatus of a few years in college. To clarify it was really more about the culture of the industry at that time, more so than the actual AoA story itself. I came up with the later 70s Cokcum/Byrne era of X-Men and even up until Silverstri was doing his lovely X-Men run Calremont was such a good writer that everyone had their own unique, defined, personality. That gave each character purpose. When that AoA era hit not only did I not like that era of art but EVERYONE became a one dimensional Wolverine type. EVERYONE had a grimacing clenched jaw with a cleft chin and stubble and the same personality-or lack their of. I remember one issue was a heavy Nightcrawler issue and it felt like I was reading a Wolverine book. It was around that time that too much continuity was broken and I felt that all of my years invested in the characters was for nothing and meant nothing. There was a lot of movement in the editorial staff and I felt that the books suffered for it. It really kicked me out of the Marvel Universe. There have been some sparks of greatness between now and then but I've never felt that the continuity was ever on solid ground ever since then.

Congrads on the 2 pack. yeah Classic Rachel and Banshee would be great. I'm anxious to get more Reavers and want Spiral and the rest of the Mojo verse badly. the rest of the Brotherhood goes without mention.

There have been some sparks of greatness between now and then but I've never felt that the continuity was ever on solid ground ever since then. I was willing to accept it because I knew that it was a self-contained (almost What If? style) story/universe. For me, I hadn't read any X-Men or any comics at all since a few issues after X-Men 1. It was refreshing to see all my favorite characters again, and I like the where are they know/how have they changed motif if I know that it is only temporary. |

The head sculpts on the Hellfire Club figures are really nice (with one small quibble that I will mention in a second). But the bodies on the females (Selene/Jean and Emma Frost) are very dated. It's incredibly hard to get the White Queen and her counterpart to stand. I think it's the exact same legs as the Allfather Scarlet Witch that I have and hate having to pose.
I'm not a huge fan of the Emma short hair look. Has anyone tried the Walgreens' long haired head on the Hellfire body? I'm guessing it won't work because of the cape, but I wanted to check to see before I tried to pick one up on eBay.

Sweet! Looks great!
I got my Hellfire club set and one of three goons. Other two are pending a few more months. Still waiting on my Rogue Pyro set and hope we get more Brotherhood members soon. Along with more Reavers and the few remaining Inner circle members, maybe with a Jason Wiengard version of Master Mind. I know there is a big core of Jim Lee fans out there and we’ve gotten most for he Jim Lee and classic Cockrum and Byrne figures (still need a few) but I’m really hoping for a wave of Marc Silverstein females. I love his Rogue, Dazzler, and Psylocke above all others. I’d take a Art Adams era Rogue And Long Shot too. I like punk rock rogue over boomber jacket Rogue.
