So for the past few weeks, I've been eyeing the new General Grievous from the Clone Wars line. The one with 2 arms, and swappable battle damaged parts. It's the 1st animated style, fully articulated, Grievous! Cool right? Here's what it comes with:
Ever look up to the sky and scream "WHY GOD, WHY?!"? Yeah, that's how I felt. Ideally this Grievous should kick ass. I prefer 2 arms over 4 arms, and the styling is cool. Articulation is there. What could go wrong? More than meets the eye! Grievous looks bad ass with sabers right? EXCEPT WHEN HE CAN'T HOLD THEM WELL AT ALL! That's right, this Grievous won't be saber battling like in that one kick ass episode where he killed Nahdar Vebb(which this Grievous is based on). Those clear plastic bands that Hasbro uses tie his sabers to his hands IN PACKAGE. This results in paint flaking off on the hands AND the hands loosening their grip. Not cool. I understand the desire to show off a toy in packaging, for both MOC collectors and to appeal to kids. Yet it is detrimental because the plastic bands kill off the grip of the hands. I mean, this is like having a Wolverine figure with loose claws. Disappointing! The figure also suffers from an aspect that some other Clone Wars figures have, flimsy plastic! This is made worse by the fact that the arms are long and thin. This is not bad for the sculpt, but for handling, it is. Maybe ABS would have been good for the majority of the arms with PVC for the forearms? Who knows. In any case, when you move the arm, the bicep shouldn't be moving inwards instead of the joints! That's not suppose to happen! It makes the figure feel cheap. So in the end, we have a GRIEFous with great articulation but can't wield his sabers well at all and flimsy parts. This could have been a great figure. Not to mention the shoulder armor does not stay pegged in well. I feel like I would have been happier buying the new Mace Windu or Aura Sing. |

if this fig were for PoC it'd stand for Piece of Crap. I returned mine after the leg fell off right out of the packaging. It also comes with a stand he cant stand on, no foot holes, and he barely can keep his balance due to the flimsy craptastic plastic

I never got the Legacy fully articulated Grievous, so I'm hoping the upcoming vintage one with the cape is way better than this one.

The Legacy Greivous isnt bad, not fully articulted, but not bad. The Clone Wars one I had I gave to my son and its still going. All of these Star Wars figs look great, but it sucks when you buy one to go with a ship and you cant even sit it in there because of some piece of hard plastic. Case in point, the Battle Damage Vader doesnt really sit well in his Sith Fighter.

I almost got this guy for my 6 yr old nephew who LOVES grievous. However after calling my brother he said not to waste my money if he only has 2 arms. Apparently even 6 yr olds even get it.
