A friend at work's husband may be selling some he's had for years. Are they worth anything?

Some are, some aren't. The Manga line, the Cyber line may get a couple of bucks. Sets like the Nitro Riders would probably do decent even though the set was re-released in new colors.

A vast majority are worth only what you paid for them, at best. Some of the exclusives are worth a few bucks.

Not really. Check eBay completed listings for "Spawn Toys." It tells a grim tale of fear and failure.
I had about 10, tried to sell them for half a year... they ended up at Goodwill. They're bargain bins toys now. Those McFarlane Monsters toys, on the other hand, are worth something in Awesome, and if he had those I will pay for them. And if he happens to have the McFarlane Movie Maniacs JAWS box set, he can have a nice evening out with dinner and a movie for two with his winnings off that. But you said "Spawn," not "McFarlane," so I'll just stop. |

NOPE!
Mainly because nobody knows who spawn is anymore. I run across them at thrift stores all the time, The main reason they are not worth anything is because they were a part of the "comic glut" of the 90s everybody was buying doubles of anything that called itself collectible, thus killing any value or rarity down the road. ( collect because you like something.) |

I think they are about as valuable as the original Spawn comics, and they can be easily found in the 25 cent bins.

That's kinda what I figured. If POTF 2 isn't worth anything, Spawn doesn't stand a chance!

Too bad, they were cool toys. Perhaps one day they will be valued for what they were. IIRC, the Spawn toys were leaps and bounds better quality than anything else on the shelves at the time, and probably propelled toy design/collecting onto a whole new level.
